Premature Ovulation

Post by xqzmoi26 »

I am 41 and going through my 4th round of IVF. For the first time, I had an AMAZING response to stimulation. I had 10 follicles (previously 3-4). We were SO excited for retrieval and when the doctor came in after the procedure, I was told they only retrieved 2 eggs. I had started ovulating and they couldn't retrieve the other eggs.

Is this common? I was never even told this could happen. With all of the monitoring and testing that is done, how does this happen. I am devastated. I know I need to try and stay positive, but only 1 of the 2 eggs was mature, so there you have it...high hopes crushed and now there is only one shot. I know they say it only takes one, but my first three attempts with two eggs were failures (one was a chemical pregnancy).

I feel hopeless, like this was my chance to have a great round and maybe even freeze some embryos. Has anyone been told by their RE that this is common, or possible. Quite honestly, I'm feeling like my physician is negligent.

Please share any information you have,

It is uncommon. The monitoring does not prevent it. Patients are typically given GnRH agonist, like Lupron or Triptorelin, or else a GnRH antagonist, like Ganirelix or Cetrotide, to prevent it. These medications are pretty reliable.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
