Lab results question

I got the results back of my AMH and it was 1.54, which my doctor says is really good for being age 44. My AFC was 12 and he also said that is good. I had 3 kids with my first husband, but then had a tubal. I had it reversed 7 years ago but my tubes blocked up again with scar tissue where he reattache them. I've been married now 7 years and this will be our first attempt at IVF.... Now I just have to go in on day 3 of my next period to get my FSH tested... As long as its below 8 we should be looking good... Do these numbers sound normal to those of you who have had this done before?Everything I read does say normal is between 1 and 3

Those are above average for your age, which is good.

Many 44 year olds need/use egg donors.

Not sure why they need a day 3 FSH after running AFC and AMH. AFC and AMH are better predictors of response than is day 3 FSH. They all are tests of ovarian reserve. That's too much testing for the same thing, IMO. Are they pumping up diagnostic fees???

I'm sure they are. We're paying for all of it out of pocket too
