Hope you don't mind me butting in - I just wanted to let you know that I'll be thinking of you Becky on Fri, I know you're back at ARGC on Fri and I just hope they will have some answers for you.
Their stats have certainly gone to pot with us on this site. Just want you both to know that you're in my thoughts and hope we all have a lot better luck next time. I really do believe we will have our babies in time.
Hope you don't mind me butting in too - good luck tomorrow Becky, we'll be thinking of you. As Jen says, it seems there are a good few of us on here now who aren't helping the stats, but I figure that sooner or later that has got to change.
Good luck, and to all the other ARGCers - Alison, Jen, Rachael....I keep everything crossed for you all!
Becky, Just wanted to say hi to and hope it goes well (or as well as these things ever go) for you tomorrow. Jen, Rachael, I can't remember, have you got follow up appointments fixed? Luce, have you decided what to do? I still haven't wanted to call!
By the way (and apols if this is too much sharing!) but my cycle has been all over the place since our last tmt. I bled for 2 weeks, had literally 1 week of no bleeding, and have now had AF for another 2 weeks with no sign of her leaving! I can only assume that its just my hormones as my skin's dodgy too, but its getting a little annoying! Anyone had anything similar?
Rachael and Jen so very sorry to hear your news. I couldn't believe it. Life can be so cruel. I really hope that your investigations come up trumps for next time. Meeting up sounds like a good idea. Send me your email address/phone number to menzieshunt@aol.com and we'll arrange it.
Alison and Luce - hi, how are you. Well I will be joining you guys on life after IVF, as over Xmas (which was very cosy in France) we decided we would not go through with another cycle mainly cos of the ohss and associated health risks. Was in hospital 4 times last year (twice ohss, once hysteroscopy, once D&C) and am fed up with them!!
So we have decided to adopt a little girl from China and have already met up with a couple who have done this. Have sent application forms off for two organizations of people going through adoption from abroad and have contacted the council inter-country adoption team! We chose China as I lived in hong Kong for 3 years and I feel I at least know a bit about the culture and history etc.
Traci- wish you all the best in your ongoing IVF. You are so very brave and dertermined. i know you will get there. I would love to meet up with you next time I am up your way but have lost your phone number. can you email it to me on menzieshunt@aol.com?
Hi Becky,
It's really nice to have you back! It's also great to hear that you have a plan of action re your little chinese girl!!
We have been thinking about overseas adoption too, maybe from Russia but we won't be making any definite plans until we have had our follow up which isn't until 13th Feb. We are waiting on some test results.
I am a bit like you at the moment, one minute thinking well life isn't too bad and we can still be happy, the next crying my eyes out! Oh well it's still early days I guess.
I have been trying to do positive things and next weekend we are having a chat with a couple who adopted a few years ago. I am hoping that it will help to talk to people who have already gone through the process rather than just keep reading stuff on the internet, it should make it more real!
Will look out for you on the other board from now on unless Mr T has made you think twice! If you are anything like me you don't quite know what you want him to say!
Hey Becky,
Your little girl sounds wonderful. We have some friends who have adopted a chinese girl, she is delightful and brings so much happiness to their lives. They're both learning chinese, and are planning annual trips so that their little girl is brought up with two cultures, not just one.
Sounds like you and dh have done some soul searching, sounds like you've made a wonderful decision.
Look forward to hearing who and when things progress
Belinda
