I've been through an fet ivf 2.5 years ago and had a pregnancy we then tried to have another using our last frozen embryo with no luck this time around I had to go on thyroid meds for an under active thyroid as well as the estrogen and progesterone injections. When the embryo didn't take I stopped all meds except the thyroid meds and I've gained about 6 lbs +. Very bloated and weight is all around midsection. I'm just wondering if anyone else experienced this with a failed cycle ? We will be trying again this month having to start from beginning with egg retrieval etc but I'm just concerned now with this extra weight. Thanks
I've been TTC for 4 years now and have put on a little weight throughout the process. I've done IUI's, ivf, and FET. I think the stress of everything absolutely puts weight on us, especially during stim. I'm a pretty active person and have doctors orders to take it easy and stop working out, so that's probably another reason I've gained a little weight. Ask your doctor though. It doesn't sound like 6 pounds is anything to worry about unless it happened super quick.
Weight gain can be a side effect of in vitro fertilization or IVF. Women who develop ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, or OHSS, due to the procedure might gain as much as 10 pounds in less than a week. Some women stop exercising or monitoring their diets during an IVF cycle, which can also result in weight gain. The weight gain after IVF is very rare. In case of weight gain, you must keep your eyes on few things like; Consult with the doctor who performed your IVF, Drink Electrolyte-Rich Fluids, Make Your Grains Whole, Go for Lean Protein and have physical activities regularly. Hope you find this helpful. Good Luck.
