Hi all, I am really nervous now. A friend told me that stomach gas pain can cause infertility. Please how true is this? I had suffered from gas pain and it comes once in a while. Do gas pain really cause infertility? Please help.

Hi Kate, are you pregnant? Seriously I have never heard anywhere that gas pain causes infertility. I understand how we women become extremely anxious during pregnancy or when we are hoping to get pregnant. It is normal but I must say you shouldn't bother because gas pain has never been linked to infertility problem. However, people suffering from gas pain can alleviate the issue by making dietary changes. Reduce consumption of foods like beets, beans, apple and others. I have never heard of anything like that. I have infertility and went through all possible fertility assistance to get my baby - but can't remember hearing that gas can affect fertility or pregnancy. In fact in a number of cases due to the hormones and stuff mothers carrying a baby often get heartburn and gas - it's bit natural though. All you've got to do is get some antacids or maybe strong antacids and everything will be just fine.
