Hi
had my first appointment with the hospital and had to ask a few times for a scan, as they only do them at 20 weeks. They decided they needed to know if I had 1 placenta or 2 so agreed to do a scan on that basis. I was so pleased after the OHSS and the pethadine I was terrified that something might have happened to them. And there are 2 placentas.
Anyway, everything looked good, am now 15 weeks, we could see their brains, bladder etc and neither of them wanted to stay still, however managed to get 6 great photos, 2 with them both on. Decided not to have any tests done, we wouldn't do anything and they said the risk was higher with twins and knowing which one had a problem etc. Just pray that everything is alright.
The clinic next scan is at 20 weeks and then every 4 weeks after that to check on the babies growth, so that was really reasuring. Felt a lot better meeting the staff and going up to the hospital, so hope it was the right choice to switch.
I would just like to say that i can not believe that they do not scan until 20 weeks. It must be so frustrating and nerve racking to have to wait that long.
I am glad you managed to get one before then and i am glad everything is great with them. It must be amazing to see all that you described. six photos they will have photo album before they are born.
Im so glad everything went well for you , its just a weight off I imagine , its a shame you cant rig yourself up with a machine at home that plugs into the telly and watch them every day!!!
We should invent one and make some dosh!!!

It must of been terrible you having to wait till 20wks to get a scan I would of been pulling my hair out and going mental. It was bad enough waiting for the 12wks scan but you was so good waiting till 20wks. I just want to say that I am glad everything went ok, and now you can just enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.
So relieved about your scan and sounds all wonderful - you must be thrilled and not too long to wait until 20 now. Normally it anything is too wrong they can tell then although more shows up on 20.
Take care
Love

I am so glad that everything went well with your scan. Why don't all hospitals have the same policy about scans and care? It's rediculous how we always have to beg for things. I had a crap time seeing my consultant yesterday who tried to fob me off and telling me it was just a normal pregnancy. So I got on my high horse and told him it was no normal bloody pregnancy to me and I want to be seen as and when. Some people have no idea what we have been through to get pregnant even medical bods.
You must be so excited to be having twins! So glad they are growing well and that you have lots of lovely photos of them to treasure.
My Fellow OCB I too would not be scanned until 20weeks by my NHS Hospital, so DH and I decided to have a private one just to put our mind at rest and I must say mine too was a mover, its just such an amazing thing to see.
Glad to hear everything is going well for you.
I've not been around for a while trying to juggle morning sickness(all day) and work was proving a little tricky at times.
Hi everyone
thanks for your replies and good wishes.
Traci I am sure that invention would sell like hot cakes, even though you can tell that your tummy is getting bigger you still need to see what is going on inside.
Vicki good to hear from you, has the sickness still not subsided? hopefully it will soon. Hope that you are keeping well, apart from the sickness, let me know about your next scan, mine is booked for the 3 March and I see my midwife in February so feel like I have dates to aim for.
hi lisa, i'm so glad to hear you're doing well. it's really great to get the scan over, great relief and also such emotion in seeing the growing baby(babies in your case). it's so lovely seeing them move! i can't get that out of my head, and the weenie face.
I'm so pleased everything went ok with your scan. I know how nerve racking it is, waiting. It won't be long before your 20 wks one and then you can put your feet up and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!!!
I know what you mean about tests, we are having twins too and so we decided to avoid any complications and not have any tests. The hospital told me if there were any major abnormalities these would be detected at the 20 weeks scan anyway. So thats what we did and all was ok. So hopefully you will have the same.
