Hi everyone
I'm very nervous posting on this side as have only just got a positive and don't want to tempt fate but I have a few questions!
Firstly is it "normal" to feel so tired this early on? The last couple of days I've struggled to get out of bed!! (Am now 4 wks and 2 days pg) I'm also still getting af type pains although not all the time and needing to pee quite a lot. I thought it was too early to get symptoms?
I can't believe we have been so lucky for it to work 1st time and am worrying that it's to good to be true and that something will go wrong.
Hope you and your bumps are all well
Love Dawn

Try not to worry too much about all the different aches and pains.....easier said than done. The next two weeks to your first scan are likely to be the longest two weeks of your life - try to keep your mind busy!
I was totally exhausted from the second week of 2ww right through the first trimester. Some days I jsut couldn't even get out of bed. The most I could do was get downstairs and lie on the sofa. You've got to go with it, its your body telling you its knackered and needs to rest. If you can, take time off work and just take it easy.
I had af pains throughout 2ww and even afterwards when I knew I was pg - its the pessaries and hormones floating around. It will soon settle down (and then if you are really lucky morning sickness will kick in!!!)
Try to rest, keep drinking lots and lots of fluid, don't do too much and wait for your first scan. Do you have a date yet?
Its such fantastic news for you - especially on your first go - well done!!!
hi Dawn,
It's so nice to welcome you here especially since the girls just welcomed me a few days ago, i was also quite shy of posting on the 'pregnant' forum, but as someone said to me, you've got a whole new set of worries to share and in a way so much more to lose. i still feel quite new at this too, i am also waiting for my first scan although in my case it will be 3ww since they were so busy in my hospital they could not give me an earlier one. do not worry about the tiredness. it's been my main symptom so far and the girls have reassured me that it is normal, also you will see from their posts to me a bit earlier everyone's symptoms seem to be different. i have been sleepy almost all day long since i tested! hang in there and everything will be ok!
love,
juliana
Well done for making the leap over to this side. I too was very apprehensive when I got my positive but it will be alright. Your body has gone through the most tireing and difficult thing it could do and so feeling exhausted is only natural. Weeing is a good sign although when you feel so tired and you have to keep getting up to go to the loo it knackers you out also. My loo is on the top floor in the loft conversion and I gasp for air every time I get there. I wish my DH would hurry up and fit our 2nd floor bathroom - quickly!! If you can have all the rest you can as the first 12 weeks are a killer. The 2nd 2ww is a killer too - Have you a scan date?
AF pains are your uterus streching and making room for the foetus. You will get them all through you pregnancy which I am beginning to realise. I am 22 weeks and had bad AF pains yesterday. Lovely
Well done again Dawn and enjoy these very special first weeks of being pregnant. It will fly by once you have had your 12 week scan.
Brilliant news. I was tired all the time at the beginning and couldn't keep my eyes open after lunch so always had a siesta. It's got a bit better now i've passed 12 weeks. Every day that goes by i ticked off in my head as a day closer to scan and a day stronger pregnancy. Keep smiling and weeing!!
Massive congratulations - what wonderful news for you and DH! WElcome to this side - the worries don't stop but neither do the laughs - especially with Nikola and Dagny who are somewhat immature so I have to keep them in line - then Jules joins in and back to the start again....
Anyway - as the others said it is all normal - I was sleeping every afternoon around 2pm after Neighbours - how sad - have managed to get 5 whole days on the trot without a sleep and then bam yesterday an hour at 2.15 - I ask you - am supposed to be entering my energetic period which is just as well as trying to set up a new business and it has been Nik and her DH keeping me going. - infact he has done more than me - whoops
Listen to you body and go with the flow - some have no symptoms at all and others have the whole lot - we are all different.
Take care
Love
Tracey

Hope you don,t have to wait too long until your scan.
Hi everyone
Thanks for your messages and reassurances.
I have my first scan on 27 Feb then if thats all ok we get handed over to gp and midwife and carry on as normal.
I still can't believe I'm actually pg it feels like a dream and I have to keep looking at the tests!!
How long is it before you can bath instead of showering? I hate showers in the winter!!!
Sorry Tracey but I'll probably lower the tone over this side along with Nikola and Dagny!! Although I remember a comment you made about your ec when you talked about shoving granny smiths up someones bum and according to my dh I recited it word for word during my ec!!! Bless him he was really worried what i was going to say next!
I hope I get to stay over this side now and haven't tempted fate!!

As you've learnt already you take everything Tracey says with a pinch of salt!!!
And Tracey - see what you've done! Is it not bad enough you telling silly stories at ET........
Dawn, you'll be fine - just keep relaxing. I have to say I didn't have a bath for a good while afterwards (until I was about 8-10wks) but I'm sure that was me being overly cautious. Until Feb 27th and you've had your first scan I would carry on exactly as you have been doing - lots of rest, fluids, no lifting etc.... Once you see what is happening and you know you've got your heartbeat(s!) then you can relax a little more.
can't believe you remember the granny smith's lark - and especially as the site has crashed several times since! Thought I had got away with it - glad it made you and DH smile - not sure about the bloke with it stuck though!
Anyway as Nik says take it easy - I still haven't had a bath!!! POOOOO
Do have a hot shower each day but will start back with my bath routine - asked Nik about it the other day!

There must be a lot of smelly pg ladies around, is all I can say!!!!
Those of you past 12 weeks - please treat yourselves to a nice bath! Poo what a pong!!
love nikola.xx
ps I have a bath every night with lots of special pg bubble bath - boots have a fab range with products that are safe in pregnancy. I then get out and cover myself in lots of creams and potions to keep away the dreaded stretch-marks.
Dh says its like getting into bed with someone who is ready to lie on the beach all day!
There is so much talk about baths I must have my first tonight, a nice long soak, lavender relaxing bath, lots of candles and a large glass of........................milk.
Nikola I know what you mean about the bed prep if my Dh comes for a hug at bed time I just slip right out of his arms.
It takes forever to get ready for bed!!! So many creams and potions and then there is the pronatal tabs to keep taking........!!
I find being in the bath is the only time I don't have back ache!! Also the babies love it when I'm in the water they kick and move around - they must like the sensation of the water.
The candles are a good idea too - I do that quite often, especially smelly ones......I could go and have one right now!!!
