Hello
I'm new to the site and relatively new to getting to grips with our 'infertility' . After a couple of years trying to conceive and approaching 37, a laparoscopy has revealed severe endometriosis. That came as a shock because I've never had any painful symptoms, but my tubes were OK for now!
Now I'm on my 4th cycle of clomid, trying to remain positive especially now we have been referred for IVF. I would be grateful to learn from anyone who has been in a similar position to me. How did you cope? All my friends have had no difficulty conceiving and they don't seem to understand how I really feel.
hello jane and welcome to the site, you will find this site very helpfull i know i have, im on my second go of ivf and all the girls are really suportive and helpful,i to have endo, well i had it lazered away twice, i`m not sure if its come back, but the clinic reckon that its probably not the cause of my infertility but other than that i have no other problems.
it`s difficult to talk to people who have no problems concieving but if theres anything you need to know or as i said need any support the girls here wiil definetly help you.
take care love loopy
welcome to the site!! Posting for the first time is a really big step (its like admitting it out loud......if you know what I mean!) you'll be glad you did!
I had been trying to conceive for about 3 years and I have a laporoscopy and hysteroscopy and they found out I have endo. Like you, I had no symptoms and so it was a bit of a shock. They also found out that my left tube was a bit twisted too.....
So I was advised to have ivf. I did my first attempt last March but sadly it failed. I did a second attempt in Sept last year and I'm now pregnant with twins.
So please don't feel too overwhelmed by the whole thing. Just take each day as it comes and deal with each bit, step by step and you'll get there in the end.
This site is a fantastic place to talk about things you are worried about - stuff that your friends don't understand or what to understand. On top of that you are likely to make some really good friends, that will be friends forever.......I have.
I havent had this but my friend has and all I can say is :
Her husband had a very low sperm count and she had severe endo well they put her on clomid and advised her that the only way for her to concieve was IVF , when she went for her Lap and dye she had the usual PG test before and hey presto she was PG and since then is now on her 4th child!!!! I think she was on clomid for 6 months , so miricles do happen .

Welcome from me too. I don't know about endo as I had blocked tubes which were removed. I am now 22 weeks pg after 3 treatments.
You have joind a very supportive and helpful board and if there is anything you need to know or just feel like off loading this is the best place to be. I have learnt so much from all the girls on here and find everyone to be very kind. You can ask just about anything and someone will probably know the answer or help you.
Wishing you lots of luck on your IVF road. There are lots of girls who have had their dreams come true so don't give up hope.
Even though you have friends who don't really know what you are going through (we have all got them) us lot on this board know and will always be here too.
I am also fairly new to the board. I haven't gone as far as IVF yet. Was on Clomid a few years back when my dh and I first started, had about six cycles then they changed me to Tamoxifen 40mg and I ovulated. I have PCOS and a thyroid problem and whilst on the drugs I put on alot of weight and also got very emotional, this is why we decided to stop for a few years and get things together (mainly my weight problem). Now I'm about to start another cycle of tamoxifen and hope (and pray) it works. I haven't told any of my friends (luckly they're all back in UK) because as you said they really don't understand (not their fault!). That is why I posted on this board, it's great hearing the advice from all and even better hearing about their great news. All the best with your treatment, please keep us posted.
