Drug query (Merional)

Hi,
I am having Merional injections (2 x 75IU). We then go onto Pregnyl (5000 IU) just ebfore ec.
Is anyone else having this medication. I haven't heard anyone mention Merional (everyone else seems to be on gonal F or Menopur). The clinic told us that it was cheaper. We are therefore a bit worried that it is not as effective.

Hello,
Our clinic used merional too, again because they had found it as effective and was cheaper. I think as long as you are being monitored and your follicles are developing well don't worry.
We got 30 eggs!!!

Hi Sophie Jane

I was meant to have Gonal F but switched to Merional at the last minute so I could use the auto injector pen!! I had 225iu fand am now 5wks and 2days pregnant after our first go!! So please don't worry that because its cheaper its not so good.
Good luck with your tmt, how are you finding the jabs?!

Thank you for your replies. They've cheered me up. Congratulations Dawn. How exciting for you.
I really don't mind injecting myself now. It stings for about 15 mins afterwards. Its the making up of the injections that I hate. I find it really difficult. Already messed one up and had to throw it away. I can't seem to get all the liquid out of the vial with the needle.

Hi ya
Have you tried putting some ice on your leg before you jab? I used to use frozen peas and found that it hardly hurt at all then!!
That was one of Nikolas tips I think and it definately works
