Viral infection at time of embryo transfer

Post by 3p »

:?: I'm fretting because I had my first ET yesterday [18 eggs, 8 fertilized,2 seven cell embryos transferred, 6 good quality frozen] but I have a horrible viral illness with sore throat, cold symptoms, aches and pains etc and worry that this might effect the chances of implantation.
Anybody have any info about this - thanks x :?

Hi there,

I was really poorly with flu when I had my EC and ET in November. I was also really concerned that it would have an effect on the outcome of the treatment. The Consultants assured me that it wouldn't make a difference.

I did go on to have a +ve result - but unfortunately had a m/c at 8 weeks, and I did ask the top consultant at the clinic when I had my followup if the fact that I had the flu at the time would have contributed to me losing the baby - and she said no.

Hope this puts your mind at rest.

Hope you feel better soon - take care and good luck
