more drama... advice needed

Post by JackieT »

hi all
you just know dont you that i canot ever be straight forward and normal?
we had our doppler scan on monday and we get the results next monday 1/4/04. as you know the doppler was for my blood pressure, they said the baby is growing properly, but i am carying excess amniotic fluid instead of 500 ml i have 874, i also have a distended tummy, which i knew anyway and she couldnt tell me why...
so went to my gp yesterday, she says can be one of two things, diabetes,{had the lucozade test-all o.k}or birth defects in the baby. something chromsomical, but just wait and see the prof on monday.
so as you can imagine, had to check this out on internet, which basically gave me the same answer... then after reading dagnys devastating news have started to worry 100 times more,
has anyone got any advice? heard any similiar cases? anything????
my tummy honestly looks like i am 9 months pregnant, when i was admitted last week for my high b.p the midwife took one look at me and asked me was i overdue...one withering look later, she laughed and said sorry.
dont really know how to do toilet paper test,but.. if it is around your body, then i get10 and half and i am 24wks and 2 days.
we did start our shopping but now i am scared to do anymore...
hope to hear from you soon
love jackiexxx

Bless you - poor you - I think I am confused again - sorry!
Did you now have an amnio and the results came back ok or have I imagined this? If so then the chromosome problems would surely have shown up there. I know you have excess fluid which will account for some of this "bloating" - do you have anything else - not being rude here. For instance are you constipated? do you have a urine infection or blocked fallopian tubes with hydrosalpinx - all these factors can account for excess fluid and bloating. I would imagine and hope it is the extra amniotic fluid and border line eclampsia. I know Dagny's news has upset us all but there has been nothing in your scans so far to indicate chromosomal development problems - infact the baby is developing fine so they say. They do have a habit of tossing these remarks in - I wonder if they know what it does to us all.
Hopefully all is fine or as fine as can be. I am not expert on these things - far from it and can't tell you all is ok because I don't know but would think it is not serious baby probs
Good luck and keep us posted
Love
Tracey
