Spoke too soon....

Post by Trixie »

Initial euphoria has now evaporated. Did a HPT this morning just for fun and it was negative. Shortly afterwards I had a small bleed.

Think my short lived pregnancy has come to an end. Will phone the clinic this morning and see what they say.

Sorry to post bad news, feel so glum.

Thanks Rach and Loopy for your kind messages. Loopy, I tested on Monday at the clinic and got a positive which I was absolutely ecstatic about. Soon brought back down to earth with a bump!

I spoke to the clinic this morning and I am going in again tomorrow for a further test to see precisely what my HCG level is (don't know what it was on Monday). So should know for definite then, but in my heart of hearts I know it's over.

I know it's been said before, but this is just such a rollercoaster isn't it? Had a crappy week last week (got car-jacked on Thursday which was pretty terrifying) but didn't let it get to me at the time and tried to think positive thoughts about Monday's test. So feel pretty p*ssed off now, although a bit better now than I did earlier, more resigned I guess. Sorry to rant and be negative, it helps just to get it down in a post to people who understand.

Trixie, sorry you're feeling glum. We can support each other. I'm in nearly the identical situation. Tested + last week after FET and have bled like crazy ever since. My clinic can't tell me why but keep taking blood tests like I'm a pin-cushion. We're assuming the worst as we can't cope with raising our expectations again.

You're not alone in this. You know :) that HPTs are pretty useless given how many out-of-the-ordinary factors we have.

Keep posting and keep positive until you know for sure.

love
Debra.

Hi Trixie

really sorry to read your news......
Its hard enough coping with a -ve but I think it is far worse to realise your dream and then for it to be snatched away......

Try and stay +ve and keep this thought with you that it will happen for you one day.......I know its no consulation but you know your embies can implant so keep this thought with you next time...

Have a bloody good drink followed by a good cry, lots of choccy and finish it off with major cuddles from dh

Thanks girls for your messages.

Well had a blood test today and the clinic has confirmed that my hcg level has dropped from monday and is now 16 and a half, should be in the 100's by now apparently so that is definitely that. Had a good old cry about it last night so today I was just resigned to the inevitable.

Was hoping to get rocking and rolling on another cycle asap in April, but looks like this might not happen. They found a polyp when they did et and want to consider whether i need to have this removed before proceeding again. B*ll*cks! Getting anywhere with this treatment sometimes feels like walking through treacle.

Anyway, I am going to take Sarah's advice and have a huge glass of lovely red wine tonight, maybe a great big fat unhealthy takeaway aswell! Wahey!
