update on madi

Post by JackieT »

hi girls
just a quick note on madi, she had her operation on weds and it has been a complete success, the swelling has gone down drastically, and the plastic surgeon is very pleased with her..
she is now on a whole 4mls of breast milk through a tube!!! but tolerating this very well. she came off all the life support and morphine yesterday.
today all her dressings were removed and i got to hold her.. she is sooo tiny, especially when she came out of the incubator, i was nearly afraid to hold her. but i loved every minute of it.
tomorrow she is being transfered back to our own local hospital, which will ease the stress alittle more as the royal london is still about an hours drive in traffic, but the care she got there is the best, really lovely staff,
she is on minimal oxygen as she is breathing a little fast but they are not worried about this.
they are very pleased with her progress and so are we...
its great to see you all in such good cheer and as usual giving tracey and nikola a hard time,
i will try to keep in touch as much as i can, its just right now we spend our days in the hospital.
love to all, and thank you all for your lovely words of welcome to madi.

Hi Jackie

I am so pleased you have kept us updated on little Madi and that she is doing really well. You and DH must be so relieved. I have been thinking a lot about her and praying she will be OK. I expect my little Katelyn is sending lots of luck charms down from above for her little buddy. Things could have been so different.

I hope she goes from strength to strength and that she can come home soon.

Look after yourself Jackie, my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Love Dagny xkx

Dear Jackie

I have not been on the boards for a while and was shocked to read your news. I'm so so pleased Madi is doing so well she sounds a real fighter.

My thoughts are with you.

I know the Royal London well, there are some excellent doctors and nurses there.

Best wishes

What wonderful news about Madi - it's good to know ahe's a wee fighter, and a whole 4mls - it'll not be long before she's on more if she's tolerating that! Don't worry too much about the faster respiratory rate, apparently it's quite common and Sam was the same for a couple of days. It's good that they're transferring her as it's a great sign on how pleased they are with her progress! Myabe you can start relaxing a wee bit more...

Take care and all the best
