Hi all - Hope you're all doing OK. Still feel a bit of an imposter here but I really could do with a bit of advice from you experts....
We are lucky enough to get a +ve blood test yesterday, HCG 152. Thrilled until about an hour ago when I decided to do a home pregnancy test....and it came out NEGATIVE. HELP HELP!!
I just dont get it?
Does this mean its all over, or have I done the home pregnancy test too early (NO IDEA WHEN MY AF WOULD BE DUE, BUT EC WAS 15 days ago). Either I'm pregnant or I'm not pregnant right??
Only other symptom is a very full bloated tummy feeling - really quite uncomfortable when I move around (although even this seems to be going today).
Really just looking for any words of wisdom - has anyone had a similar thing happen?
How many HPT's have you done?? Sometimes they just get a wrong reading. I think you can get a false negative but not a false positive so I would do another one if I were you.
We worry so much about everything and get into such a state. Give your clinic a call and see what they say. Your blood levels were good so I think the HPT is wrong.

Sorry cant really help you but I dont think it will be owt to worry about,which pregnancy test did you use,the clearblues are good its the one I used.
I know this is rich coming from me but try not to worry,I have done another worry over these last 2 days to last me a life line,so I'm dertermined to enjoy it.

I'm back at work tomorrow the 1st time in nearly 3 weeks!! OMG I have never had that much time off but its been worth it.

Clinic said the same as you, they said they get lots of false -ves and false +ves with them. I just NEVER thought they were wrong though? May do one tomorrow again. WISH I'd never done it now.

DOES ANYONE HAPPEN TO KNOW THE EARLIEST DAY AFTER ET THAT A HOME PRENANCY TEST CAN WORK PROPERLY?? I WAS TOLD BY THE CLINIC TO DO IT ON DAY 14 AND DID IT TODAY WHICH IS 13.ANY THOUGHTS?
(AM COUNTING DAY 1 as ET DAY)
What I would do is a really good test like 'Clear Blue' and first thing in the morning when your wee is at it's strongest. You will be day 14 then and I will imagine it will be a +ve.
I am really feeling for you honey and can sense the panic in your post. I wish I could make it better for you. Try to get through this evening and let us know what happens. send DH out for an all singing all dancing HPT.

Dagny - just to say did another test this morning and very faint - but positive -so I think I'll just take this as a good sign. Right?!!? Will do blood test next week though. Thanks for all your understanding.

sorry just come in on this - try not to do any more until next week - the blood test is fine and your HCG is great - like the others I reckon Clear Blue are the best - I use those. If you have to then there is the pink one - help me out here girls - think it is called PREDICTOR (sounds like an ARNIE movie - oops that was PRedator - the film not the test ) you can test earlier with these - I would stay away until Monday now - yes I know I am mean but then it will be fine - otherwise just lay off altogether and congratulations again!

Still feeling very dodgy about this side, because it's so early...!
Caz - I did a HPT (FIRST RESPONSE) out of sheer panic after the positive, but at around day 16 and it was positive, so I'm sure you did yours too early. My clinic actually very strongly advised against doing any HTPs, because they would give the wrong reading. So hope you're keeping your nerves and get to hear comforting and reassuring words from your clinic tomorrow!
Hope all is going well for everyone else! Fingers and everything else are crossed like mad - I can't wait for my scan on Tuesday, already building a mega-list for the doc (they'll be pleased - NOT).

Hello there!
Just to say - had a blood test done on friday (ie 48 hours after the origincal preganacy blood test) and HCG had gone up from 152 originally to 346. So I think that OK.
Wow - do you ever stop worrying!
Am having (I think) a blood test done on wednesday (a week after orginal blood test was done) and I think HCG has to be around 1000 at that point.
will try not to panic or think about it too much (HA HA!!) until then!

Thats great news but don't worry too much about your HCG levels as sometimes if they are not as high as expected you end up worrying constantly. It's a bit of a minefield with what levels are good or not. I am pleased in a way that my clinic don't do those tests so that's one less thing to fret over. Having said that your levels on Friday looked really good so well done you! You little baby is thriving by the sound of it - maybe you can sit back and relax for a while now.

I have got to wait for my next AF hopefully in a week or so and will have my hormone level blood test and a swab done to make sure the infection which caused my premature labour has gone completely then it's full steam ahead for the next month, June - hopefully, fingers crossed.
A bit nervous but it will be 4th time and it's always a fresh cycle. I've never been lucky enough to have any frosties.
