Survived the twelve week scan!!

Post by BelB »

Hi all,
Just a little note to say that we had our twelve week scan on Tuesday, was relly really lovely. Our bubby waved, played with his/her hand, did some serious headstanding, backward summersaulting and generally looked to be having a great time..the nuchal folds were fine, I also had some biochemistry (blood tests) done, they came out relly well, so no invasive tests for us!!!
Our bubby is due on the 22nd of November, though every time we have a scan they say he/ she is a "big bond baby" (Bond is our surname!!!!), apparently bubby had a big fat belly at the scan, looked like he had been drinking some amniotic fluid (must truly taste like swamp water!!!).
Just wanted to share our lovely news...I feel so much more settled now for having survived this hurdle, 12 weeks has always been kind of a psychological barrier for us..
Take it easy everyone!
Belinda

Hi Bel

Glad to hear your scan went so well, have mine next Tuesday

How is the nausea? Mine has worn off a little but I am still being sick every morning and the indigestion is awful at night, so bad I can't sleep!

Hope you are keeping well, look forward to the next scan at 20 weeks!

Such lovely news! You and John must be thrilled to have reached another milestone. Any idea on boy or girl? did you look/want to know?

Just in case Lorraine reads this, I heard (and tested) carrots for indigestion. Kept a pack of those tiny, baby carrots for night time heartburn throughout my pg, it did help. As did a commercial, chalky-type settlers type thing.

Good luck Bel + everyone else and their wonderful pgs.

Debra.

HI all,
I love this web site, I just love all the positive messages of support..I've had some great, and not so great times with this IVF lark, but this site has always made me feel welcome and OK..
Oh dear, am terribly senitmental at the best of times, this is just ridiculous!!
Nicola, I love all of your messages re. your girlies, they sound divine (and a handful!!).
Deb, am sooo excited that you're back!!!..Can't wait to hear your fabulous news
Gem, will definately join your thread, sounds like it could be my thing!!
Traci - Thank you, we are estatic, Johnie (dh)is loving telling the world, he is so cute when he's excited!!
Caz - Thanks love!!, where are you up to in your cycling / IVF life??
Dawn - I so have a bump, I'm starting to find trousers etc quite tight (really need to shop I feel!!!)..The football thing sounds like exactly where I will be in the not too distant future!!!
Lorraine - The nausea has worn off a tad, only really hits me if I get too tired or too hungry, is a horrible thing, would be very happy to see the back of it for a while!
Dagny and Tracey S and Alison - Thanks so much!
Take it easy all
Belinda
