Hi Nickie, I'm so sorry about your negative result. Just wanted to check you are ok and enjoyed your alcohol and wine. Are you planning another go or are you taking time out with DH for a while?

Hope you get the result you deserve next time.
Best wishes

Hiya ladies :D

Thanks for your your lovely replies - I am actually feeling great after the first day being a bit teary but you can't grumble and you have to look forward to the future! It wasn't meant to be for me this time round and I'm sure when my time comes it'll be right

I have an appointment at the Lister next Thursday for follow up and to discuss future plans - I shall ask to do an FET as soon as possible (see what the consultant says) and if that fails then I won't be cycling again til next year (unless I get my "freebie" on the NHS  which I'm not sure whether that's in place yet or whether I'm allowed!) I know we can't afford to keep cycling fresh all the time as IF it does work then I don't want to be in mountains of debt when the baby comes along.

So I shall let you know after next Thursday what the plan is ....

Big huggles to you all

Nickie,

Very sorry to hear the bad news. I do admire you for having such a positive attitude about things.....something I really need to work on!

As far as the FET, I think they will let you do it as soon as AF comes. I had a -tive from my first IVF cycle May 14 and am just waiting for AF to show up this month to get started on the FET. Does your clinic do non medicated FET cycles? Unfortunately, mine only does medicated so I have to go through the whole downregging process starting on Day 21 of my cycle for 10-14 days then take something called Estrace (a form of estrogen) for about 2 weeks then progesterone in oil injections (ugh). That means that even if I get started at the end of this month, the transfer won't actually be until early Aug. Does the process take that long at your clinic?

Hiya Amithis

I spoke with the nurses and yes they do non-medicated cycles for FET - you scan on day 3, then again on day 10 - then you have your Ovitrelle injection and 5 days later ET. Obviously I'll wait to discuss my options with the consultant but it certainly seems a lot less painful and time consuming as yours :?

I would love to do a non medicated cycle....esp. since I had such bad side effects from Lupron (for downregging) and have read estrace causes a lot of side effects. And, it goes without saying that I could do without more needles at this point! Oh well. I have very irregular cycles so, even if they did offer non medicated, I don't know if I would be a candidate due to that.
