hello,i just wondered if anyone has ever had advice from there clinic about using sunbeds whilst going through ivf,i have always used them although not a lot,but never thought to ask if it was ok,obviously i dont use them during the 2 ww.

Personally I wouldn't go on a sunbed at any time let alone around treatment time but that's just my opinion. I am very wary of things like that. There are some very good fake tanning lotions in the shops now. Loreal do a good one which does not turn you yellow/orange or streak.

Most salons here in the U.S. offer airbrushed tans now. Basically, either a person or, in some cases, a machine applies a self tanning solution in a very fine spray. I have not tried it myself yet but they are very popular and are known for excellent results and very even application with no streaking. They have basically become more popular than the tanning beds and many of the old tanning salons have converted to airbrush tanning salons. I don't know if you have these in the UK but would think that you would?
I wouldn't recommend the tanning beds as, like Bronagh said, my clinic told me not to lie out in the sun during the 2 ww.
I have very fair skin but don't really mind it (except for my legs which I do put self tanning lotion on).

Don't go near sunbeds - even more so these days - will not go you any good on your ivf - pre or post! Bro no sure where you heard about sunbathing - you can sunbathe and nothing wrong with it as long as you use cream and are sensible etc. Some skins in pg do not react well so can get a rash and funny patches, some go even browner and you can dehydrate so these are the things to look for. Sunbeds are a big no no as you said.

thanks for your replies girls,im not going to use the sunbeds until after treatment,but then hopefully i wont be able to anyway cause i`ll be pregnant. 
i dont use them a lot its just my sister has her own sunbed shop and i go on if i pop to see her,i already use an amber solaire false tan and its realy good,so i will be sticking to that for now.thanks again.love loopy.
