Hi

Does anyone else suffer badly from hayfever and, if so, is there anything I can take during the pregnancy that won't affect the baby?

Sorry don't suffer too much - ask the gp - i have been eating loads of local honey which works pretty well and then covering my nose with vaseline - it is elder and rape that really set me off!

Sorry no help on the hay fever, althought my S.I.L give the kids Benadryl for hay fever not sure if you are pregnant weather you can take this, ask at the chemist or gp.

course I am as cute only less hairy (yep even in pg) and have a tummy 90 times the size

Hi Fiona

I've got hayfever too and my gp said it was ok to take Piriton although when I went to get it at the pharmacy the pharmacist put a few doubts in my head so I've only taken 1/2 a tablet!!!
Best thing to do is ring your gp.
I know how crap it can make you feel so hope you can get something!

Thanks Dawn for a vaguely sensible answer. Went to see my GP this morning and he said I shouldn't take anything at all. It's a bit worrying that their advice differs. Anyway, no walks in the country for me, just going to head for the shopping malls until September!

WE are fine thanks! I like the sun but getting a bit too much even for me!

Fiona - I did mention the gp - is that not vaguely sensible

And I was not joking about the vaseline on the nose - helps pollen getting in so much

Just don't think I can do the vaseline on the nose bit just yet. Would make my nose even shinier than it is in the sun. However it's only June so watch this space.....

you really do sometimes - all the indignities you go through with IVF and you have had children and there you are worried about a shiny nose!
