Hey Dagny,
Well, well, well, sorry I didn't post my results yesterday because I DID NOT WANT TO COME IN TO WORK SO I SPENT THE DAY WITH DH !!!!
Ok, here I go ...
We got there at 9:00am, started the scan, and I notice the nurses face a little odd (at this point she hadn't yet turned the monitor to show us) and I asked is something wrong and she says YES !!!! I died ... and I said what is wrong ? she says, while turning the screen, she says there is ONE embryo, there is the sac, there is the yolk, there is your baby, and there is NO heartbeat !!!! I started crying hysterically, poor DH he kept telling me to call down, and he started to carefully look at the screen and told the nurse whats that?? Isn't that the HEARTBEAT !!! and she says ooohhhh hold on I think I see it... !!!
Then she says your balder is extremely full and its hard for me to really see ... (bUt NNOOOOOOOOOO she doesn't say go unload and come back), she has I am going write that there is a FAINT HEARTBEAT !!! After 1/2 hour of me crying like a baby she says ohhh but don't worry most people the heart starts beating a little later this is common I have seen this many times... Now I am furious I mean why don't didn't she say that in the begining instead of saying there is a promblem there is no heartbeat... I am not a aggresive person but I swear I would of grabbed her by the hair and BASH her face in the wall... Dh was freaking out at how rude this B _ _ _ h was... then Jaime (dh) kept saying I see it fluttering , so I asked her if we can call the doctor in and get a second opinon and she pulls out the probe (vaginal u/s) and says I know what I say and that is exaclty what I am going right FAINT HEART BEAT !!!
Well, this B _ _ _ h thought that she was gonna get away with this no way !! So I went to see the head nurse and explained everything that happened and they said I am not the first to complain about that B _ _ _ H treatment !! And they reassured me that sometimes the heart beat had just begun to pump and with in a few days it gets going.... I was not convinced we demanded to see the dr. Again I explained everything and he asked ud to go in the next room for another scan... As soon as he put the probe within 2 seconds he says theres the heart beat you see it :D ... OH MY GOD !!!! I again started crying the heart was beating away ... He said that the heart beat was a little slow but most times it gets to normal... So we are returning next thursday for another scan ...
We then met with our fertility specialist and he said that everytime he say cases like this they all turned out perfect..... BUT he said if it doesn't go faster there could be chromosone problems...
Well, I tell you what a day Dh & I had yesterday !!

Do you and anyone else reading this post know a little more about the heartbeat ??????
We were exactly 6 weeks yesterday and the embryo meassures 3.2 mm which the normal at this stage should be 2.0 to 4.0mm (so that looks great !)
Is it posible that the heart beat increase in a couple of days ???

Thank you so much for askiong about me..... I couldn't wait to come post my results ....

OMG - I really feel she is in the wrong job - how about looking after rottweilers! I mean honestly what a complete cow and so unprofessional and uncaring and sorry but set me off

Right - firstly congratulations - this is on seeing the heartbeat. There are many clinics over here that do the probe at 6 weeks - mine is more cautious and does it at 7 wks which makes you sweat it out for a week longer! The reason for this is that at 6 wks they often cannot see the heartbeat. You have done well to get a heartbeat - you have a sac, a yolk sac and gestational pole and the doctor has seen the heartbeat as has Jaime who sounds better than the flaming nurse. In my opinion that is all as it should be - the heart does really only flicker at this point and flickers for a while. Did she discuss measurement of gestational sac with you? If all she was blithering on about was her lack of ability to see the heartbeat properly and then own up to it I would say that on Thursday things should be just fine.
Take care
Love

THANK YOU TRACEYS!!!
The dr said that the sac the and embryo were a perfect size and the scan said that it was measuring 6 weeks... The dr kept telling me to try to forget the first horrible experience with that women and remember that we say the heart beat ! How the hell could she have missed it .. Jaime said he saw the heart beat as soon as she turned over the monitor to us .. DDUUUHH!!
Your right about the heart beat, because the nurses and dr said that they have seen many cases of it taking a couple of more days before seeing the heart beat ! She told me of an example of a women pg with twins and they were able to see only one heart beat and the next week at 7wks they say the other....

I tell you what an experience for us yesterday, Thank God Jaime is much stonger than I am, I don't know what I would do with out him...
Thank you so much Tracey.... Hoew are you holding up?? The day is almost here!!

Teresa

You are very welcome and you both sound you are supporting each other so I have every confidence you will be fine and we can all stick two fingers up at her  Your doctor sounds great which is more important than the silly bat - sorry set me off again - must be hormones

Jules on the other board has two year old twins and they could not get heartbeats on hers and then got one and it was a while before they got another - they are fine and at two years old merrily giving her the run around and hitting each other!

As for me - well sent dh off to get a fresh pineapple as supposed to bring on labour and not fancying the induction on wednesday - they did not have one so he brought back tin bless him. Am excited and nervous as I am sure you can imagine.....

Take care and I shall not be around thursday not doubt so good luck

Sorry to but in on this post but I am so angry at what has been said to you during this scan. I had my first scan at 6 weeks and no heartbeat could be seen at that stage, however, when we went back at 8 weeks it was there, but faint. I am now 22 weeks and feeling my little girl jump all over the place!

It's easy for me to say I know, but please try not to worry, your scan was performed very early and I am sure you will see a much stronger heartbeat at the next one!

Take care

much love

The chances are you would cramp and bleed - there is nothing wrong! It can be the case it takes a while but don;t start worrying about that. Are you tired or anything? Sore boobs?

Things will be fine and I am not to hear another worry even when I am in hospital ok?
