What does everyone think about curries during 2WW?

Post by Mandy Miller »

Hi all you Expectant Mums!!!!

FIRSTLY, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Sorry to be a pain, but really need some advice. I phoned both my hospital & the clinic I attend at London Bridge but neither would commit themselves as there is no medical evidence.

We always have a curry on a Saturday & a friend who has kids suggested perhaps I shouldn't. I couldn't see why not apart from having it too hot & heartburn, so phoned both clinic & hospital for advice. I am still none the wiser. I don't have it that hot, although not completely mild either, about medium I'd say, so can someone get back to me this afternoon before I leave work at 3:00 today as Bank Holiday & stop me going mad. If I can't have my curry I will be lost. Perhaps some of the girls who are pregnant may know.

Will also post this on General Thread just in case.

Thanks again.

Love, Mandy  :?

Hi Mandy! I am not sure about curry, but I just did a quick internet check and nothing came up to say to stay away from it! I am not a big fan of curry, but I love spicy food and I can't get enough -- I did eat some spicy food on the 2ww -- they told me the day of EC not to eat spicy food, but that was because they were worried it would upset my stomach with the anesthesia.

I would say though, if there is any doubt in your mind, I would skip it until you get your BFP -- you don't want to second guess anything you did while in the 2ww. I was really wanting to go get my hair colored at the salon and the doctor even said it would "probably" be fine -- well, that wasn't good enough for me, so I am waiting until I get out of the first trimester to color my hair. So you might want to order something different and just have a wee bite of you DH's curry to satisfy your craving. . .?

Mandy:

I haven't heard a thing about spicy food or curry. I'd go for it, unless the paranoya will drive you crazy.

Shannon:

I got my hair colored yesterday! The gray was inching out too much for me. My Dr. said it's not so much the products, but the smell....so get in and out of the salon.

Thanks, Paige! That is exactly what I can't stand -- the gray is driving me nuts!
