Hello mpoppy7!

I had both tubes removed by laparascopy before my IVF. This was done in January and my first IVF cycle started at the end of April. So I had to wait 3 full months and then started at the next AF. It was a long time to wait, but with a good outcome for us (fingers crossed).

Will you also have both tubes removed? I was relieved that I did. I knew IVF was our only hope of getting pregnant anyway, but for some reason it was comforting to know that it would never happen naturally after the surgery. I felt that when I was done with IVF, I could truly get on with my life. I would never be one of those "Oh, I know a couple who tried IVF six times and then when they gave up and relaxed, they got pregnant naturally". I really hate that story.

Good luck to you in your treatment. Welcome to the board. It has been such a help to me.

hi there - what's your laparoscopy for?

I had a laparoscopy to remove endometriosis deposits, then had IVF about 6 months later. Unfortunately the endo had returned very quickly and severely and that cycle failed.

I then had another laparoscopy to remove more endo and then started my IVF cycle within a couple of weeks - my consultant gave me a synarel spray to stop all hormones and therefore endo returning in the couple of weeks between the lap and the IVF. It worked and I am now a very proud mummy to Jay who's 10 months old and my little miracle.

Hope this information helps but more importantly, I hope that you and Beck are soon pg! love Sally xxx
