longest 2 weeks of my life

Hi I am day 7 of my 2ww
Dissapointed out of 7 eggs only 1 fetilised had my 5 cell put back on thursday 16th dec. This is my second ivf first one was -tive so upsetting We are having preg test on 30th Dec we hope it will be the best new year ever.
Can not seem to get in to the christmas spirit at all.
No drinking or partying just trying to take it easy not good when we run a busy city centre bar in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
I so want to do a hpt but to frightened and to early at the momment will wait it out until 30th!!!!!

Hi...yes these 14 days are always incredibly slow. Sorry to hear you're finding it hard going. I've tried doing something I want to last a long time during them to make the most of the slowness (like rereading a favourite book, or watching Pride & Prejudice AGAIN on dvd). Mind you, running a bar at this time of year must take all your time and energy.

HPTs have long been debated on here. Many, many times people have tested early, got a negative but gone on to test positive on the day. Even a day or two early will skew the result. They can't be trusted as we've so many hormones in our systems from the meds. Try to resist the urge, the most likely result will be a neg which doesn't mean a thing so you're no better off than before.

At least you're half way through, you've got an incredibly busy few days coming up and then you can sit back, put your feet up and wait for 30th. It does pass and we really do understand how mind-bendingly slow the days go by.

Hi JJS, I am in a nearly identical sitation to you. I had 9 eggs and only 1 fertilised I had a 4 cell put back on 16th December (we were so disappointed as well). And I test on 30th ......

The 2ww is never easy and i suppose not being able to go out and have a few drinks at this time of year makes it a little harder. This is my 4th 2ww and I have to admit this has been the easiest for me as there have been so many other things going on and this week has flown by.

I really hope that it is the best new year ever for both of us and I'll be thinking of you next Thursday and wishing you the best of luck.
