i was just wondering of someone could help me. im supposed to be going to a gig in a couple of weks (march 5th), and im a bit worried that it might not be the best idea. I bought the ticket before i got pregnant, and didnt think too much more of it, but its going to be a bit of a smoky atmosphere, and although i wont be in any crowds i still think it might be a bad idea!!! i dont know what to do, i have never smoked and have steered clear of smoky areas til now, i will be 16 1/2 weeks pregnant at the time, too. I was really looking forward to going as its a band i am also friends with, and i havent seen them for a few years, but its not worth jeopardising the life of my twins, and i was thinkking of getting rid of my ticket.
can anyone help with some advice please????

I can appreciate why you're worried but I have to say that if it was me, I'd go to the gig. I certainly had evenings out in smoky pubs and nightclubs when I was pregnant with my two, although I didn't do it very often. It's not as if you're going to be exposing the babies too much if it's just one evening out. And on a lighter note, you're not going to get much chance to do these sort of things once your twins arrive, believe me. But it has to be your choice - do what you feel happiest with.

Hi Toni.....I'm with Jules 100%. One night won't cause your babies any long lasting damage. Not everyone there will be a smoker + you can always move if sod's law means you're next to a heavy puffer. Plus Jules's point about doing things like this before the babies arrive is totally valid. I wouldn't change having had my baby for the world but nights out become a thing of the past, and we've only got a singleton!
