Ectopic Pregnancy
Hi. I have had three ectopic pregnancies and am wanting to try IVF this year. I would like to hear from people who have been in the same position as me, i.e have had ectopics and then go on to have a child through IVF.

I am so sorry you have had the sadness of three ectopic pregnancies. You don't say if you have damaged or blocked tubes which is usually why women have ectopics. Have your tubes been saved after your ectopics?
I have not had ectopics but both my tubes were badly damaged in my early 20's due to a botched up appendix operation and my chances of conceiving naturally was practically zero. You can get trapped fluid in blocked and/or damaged tubes called hydrosalpinx which can be potentially fatal to a growing foetus in the womb. I had a lot of hydrosalpinx so I had both my tubes removed after my 1st IVF treatment. A huge decision to make but I know that I won't get an ectopic pregnancy at all.
I am telling you this as if you have got blocked or damaged tubes it may be worth getting it sorted out before your IVF as there is still a chance of having an ectopic pregnancy even through IVF or having problems with the fluid in the tubes if your embryo implants.
Come over to the General Forum. It's busier over there although it can get quiet at times.

Ectopic Preg
Hi, In reply to your question re Ectopic Preg then go on to have IVF. I have suffered 2 ectopic's and lost both my tubes, so our only option was IVF, I now have a beautiful 1 1/2 year old boy and am currently in the process of going through IVF again !!!!
