A new hello

Post by miche »

Hi there everyone

I've been visiting the site for the past couple of months - all the way through my first IVF cycle, but have only just picked up the courage to join and post my own message. Our first cycle was negative even though everything went smoothly up to the results of the pregnancy test.

We are going to start (hopefully) our 2nd try as soon as I get my period, but so far nothing has happened. Has anyone else out there had a delayed period the second month after the treatment finished? Is this normal?? I've obviously done pregnancy test (negative) but still no period. I'd really appreciate anyone's help or advice.

Hopefully I'll be able to join a April/ May buddies thread soon

Love Miche

Hi Miche

Firstly, welcome to this site - you will find it really helpful with all your questions.

After my treatment, my period was very, very late  - Don't worry if it does take a little while to get back to normal, just remember what your body has been through and all the hormones that you have been on :!:

I am so sorry that you had a -ve, but it is good to hear that you are already focused and looking to the future. When you make up your mind as to which month you will be cycling have a look at all the different threads for the months of April, May, June and July and come and join in :D

HI Mich,

I am also relatively new to the site although like you I have been logging on and reading for some time.

My first cycle of IVF was June/July last year and like you it was -ve. I didn't bleed again for approx. 6 weeks after test date then I had two fairly normal periods within the space of 2 weeks!

I think its best to establish a healthy cycle again to recognise a rhythm in your ovulation. I failed to do this and had an aborted FET a few months later. Like you I sought comfort in trying again but its worth hanging on that extra month or 2. Will you be going for FET this time or the complete treatment?

If you are going for natural FET I would recommend you have a least 2 normal periods first, you don't want to experience the disapointment of an aborted FET like me.

I hope this helps, if I can help any more please let me know.

Me 30 / dh nearly 30!
July 04' = -ve
November 04' = FET abandoned
April 05' = -ve

Hi Miche ... Welcome to the site. As others have said, your body does need time to get back to normal after a cycle. I didn't take THAT long, but AF was a few days late. It's nothing to worry about.

Lots of luck for your next cycle. Lots of PMA !
