I'm currently on my 5th cycle of IVF - and I just wondered if there was anyone else on the boards who has been unlucky too and had to go through many cycles......

Hi Sandra, I'm fine thanks, I havn't been on the boards a lot lately though. I did a short protocol again this time - the whole cycle took 14 days from starting to ET - I kept meaning to join in on the cycle buddies but have been so busy I havn't had time.
I test on 25th April so only 1 more week to go! I feel pretty relaxed about it all this time which is surprising!
What stage are you at?

A 14 day protocol sounds pretty fine to me ..! ... and you do sound so relaxed too. It can only be good. Keeping busy takes your mind off things during this horrible 2ww, but I hope you're not overdoing it ..
I'm doing a FET. Have been downregging for about 2 weeks, and started HRT tablets last Thurs. Don't go back until 28th for an u/s. This is my first FET and it seems really weird not having to go in daily for the bloods. Not that I'm complaining - it's just kinda strange !
I hope you continue to feel so relaxed and positive ..!! Don't forget, come and give us an update whenever you can fit us in !!

Hi there Dolly, yes I'm still around and am just starting my 6th full (7th in total including one FET) IVF/ICSI cycle. We've cycled at similar times before I know, but can't remember exactly when (its all a bit of a blur!)
Started downregging yesterday, go for a scan on Friday. Its more than 18 months since I last cycled, and probably about the same length of time since I posted on the general board - it feels a little wierd to be doing both!
Wishing you all the best for this cycle. 25 April is my 7th wedding anniversary, so hope that will be lucky for you.

Your short protocol sounds great. Mine was the world's longest as I started sniffing in February due to how Easter fell this year. Nearly 6 weeks of Synarela just about killed DF and I, not to be repeated
From memory, Tracey S was finally successful on her 5th try (FET I think), and Di was on here recently reassuring someone that it took 10 tries for her so there are people now changing nappies who had to go through the longhaul too. We'll get there!

Hi Debra, firstly good luck for your test on Thursday - I've got everything crossed for you. I have been keeping my eye on you all - but what with work being busy and just havn't had the time until lately to post.
Wow 6 weeks of synerela - that must have been a nightmare! One of the great things about the short protocol is just as the drugs start to really make you feel odd - it's time for EC.
How are you feeling? I've had tummy ache for the last couple of days.

I am pregnant now for (tomorrow) 9 weeks!
I had more than 20 iui's! (I am very stubborn) and this was going to be the last IVF. Absolutely.
I passed 41 in the meantime and it was okay with me... I was seriously thinking of the advantages of being childless....
Well... miracles exists...

I am about to start my 4th ( 1 fresh and 2 fet ) , will be egg sharing this time and going for blastocys method. * could be on same dates as you little p !!! I go for final appointment fri ( after finally catching up with my doc - for those of you who read my thread) to tie up loose ends and sign consent forms. AF arrived yesterday so hopefully start day 21 of this cycle ??
What is the short cycle all about??? How can they do ivf in a few weeks and yet still get others to go through months of torture????

Hi Leanne ... A short protocol is used if the ovaries respond poorly to stimulation (there may be other reasons for it as well, I don't know).

It IS you! I just posted on your other post. How are you? Sorry to see you're still at it but this could well be the one! I'll be watching out for your results next week.
I started 6 cycles in all, then they wouldn't let me carry on (don't mean to suggest this will happen to you). So the long & the short of it is, I am on a waiting list for donor eggs. So I'm kind of still going after 6 cycles, hanging in there!
