Progesterone Injections

Post by Sarah30 »

hello ladies

are any of you pg people have to have daily progesterone injections (the drug is called Gestone). I have to have them up until 12 weeks (I'm weeks today). I've only had 8 jabs in the bottom (4 each side) so far and my backside is killing - feel so bruised it hurts when I walk.

Is anyone else having this?

Sarah x

Progesterone Injections

Hi Sarah - I'm using the gestone too but am still on the 2ww as thet felt the pessaries might not have been strong enough the first time (also had gestone on my 2nd IVF attempt). We've been told that if it works we'll have to carry on with them through to the 12th week, and while of course we'll do ANYTHING for it to work, its going to be a strain as my bum too is beginning to suffer. I'm also doing twice daily heparin injections in my stomach, so all in all am a bit of a wreck! Not sure that this helps at all but thought I'd share!

Alison x
eeeewwwwww Alison, you poor thing.

thanks for replying, it does help to know that your bot is sore too - I had started to wonder whether we were doing them correctly and in the correct place (upper outer quarter of the cheek he he), and yes, I too have to continute till the 12th week which is why I can believe it's so sore already.

Good luck for 2ww - hope it flies by for you and you get a +'ve result at the end of it!

love sarah x
