ADD/ADHD Medication

Post by KristiKay »

I take Adderall for ADHD and have for sometime (20 mg two times a day) I asked my MD if I should take this once I start trying to get pregnant (he perscribed it) and he said it "should be a problem" I spoke to my fertility specialist and he said "not while I am on the IVF Cycle"

Has anyone heard anything about this? I have gotten different answers while searching the web for information

Thanks Kristi

if it is a certain class of script you shouldn't take it , I am biploar and I had to go off all my meds before hand and stay off them durning the pregnancy, My doc said If I need them we will see what we can do after the 1st tri.
Alot of meds like adhd and bipolar meds can cause miscarriage. You can look it up on the net to see what it says about women taking it when they are trying to concieve.
Hope this helps a little

add

Attention deficit disorder is characterized by the main features of distractibility, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. It occurs in both children and adults, and interferes with the person's ability to function normally in their day-to-day activities, such as work, school, and at home. While we do not yet fully understand the causes behind these problems, there are many readily available and effective treatments for attention deficit problems.

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
it is the same as add but they are hyper and cannot stop..

CHADD (Children/Adults Having Attention Deficit Disorder)

it is very hard on everyone..
