I sent her a PM a little while ago and she is in the middle of sorting some things out for herself.

I think she'll come back when she's ready.

How kind of you to think of me, Denise, Nicki, and Little P.

I hadn't been on much because I was waiting to hear from the doctor if I could have a second go at an IVF cycle (turning 43 in August). Not only did he say yes (due to my good stimulation and good-looking 3 embryos last time), he said they would cover me under the French social security system for it! Now, if only I can find a job to take advantage of that before August!

I just (finally) got an interview for a job as an Int'l Marketing Assistant. Only problem is it's quite a commute from Paris. If I get the job, how will I take off for IVF appointments? Well, I'm hoping I won't be required to meet with the biologist and anethesiologist again, but there is still my initial consult with my doctor (already scheduled for July 20) and three ultrasounds!

Having been thinking about taking DHEA after reading these articles:
http://abclocal.go.com/wls/news/special ... boost.html

http://www.sciencentral.com/articles/vi ... =218392379

and this web site, where they are doing a study:
http://www.centerforhumanreprod.com/pre ... aries.html

But apparently the good effects happen after 4 months, so I hardly have time. Plus I read somewhere that they can make fibroids grow because of the estrogen that gets produced and I have fibroid problems already.

Well, maybe I should just go without it and hope for at least a 3-embryo transfer like last time. Sure would like to have more than that, though!

Hi Emily - Lovely to see you back ! Well done on getting the okay from the doc re another round. That's excellent news.

Even though the potential job is a commute from Paris, it'd be worth it wouldn't it ... you wouldn't have to stay there forever... just long enough to qualify for the free tmt ??

Aptmts ?? Maybe you wouldn't qualify for paid time off within the first couple of months, I don't know ? .. but surely you be able to take annual leave ? .. and that way, you wouldn't have any explaining to do.

DHEA ... em, I've just been reading a little about that over the last few days. Don't really know much about it other than it balances out the effects of Cortisol in your body. Also, my little book says it generally :
Decreases recovery time from exercise
Decreases the risk of cardiovascular disease
Increases human growth hormone
Improves immunity
Improves mood
Increases energy
Increases fat burning
Is correlated with longevity
Speeds recovery from surgery

Don't know about the fibroids ?? .. but the above all sounds good stuff ..

Emily

Hi there and well done on the appointment - I'm so pleased for you, you must be over-the-moon with the outcome.

As Sandra says the job is a step in the right direction and could help you qualify for the treatment, maybe it would be worth using it as a means to getting there - I don't know :?

I hope that things are ok with you and that life is being kind.

You know where I am - take care and huge amounts of PMA.

Hi Emily,

Its good to see you back, and obviously you've been busy. Can you imagine if you had triplets after implanting three..... Holy Cow!

When do you hear about whether or not you get the job?

Hi Emily. Great news re. the interview. Personally, I'd worry about the apts. if you get the job. Why borrow trouble? When will the interview be?

Also fab news that your next tmt will be covered by the social security system. A lovely incentive :)

Hi guys,

Sandra, Debra, Little P, and all--Yes, I think just to have a first French job would be good for many reasons. The interview was yesterday and went well, but the marketing mgr was hesitating even though interested in my capacities because he was thinking I am overqualified and that the job is very operational.

I sent him a letter responding to these concerns today, pointing out that the French and US job markets are very different and that it was less important now to consider my qualifications adapted to the US market than to adapt my abilities for success in a French company. I hope it works. He said I would hear back by end of next week.

Sandra, what did you mean by annual leave? Time taken without pay? I guess what I'd do if offered the job is ask if I can have unpaid vacation. I really need this anyway because my father is not well and I will want to be able to visit him at some time.

Regarding the DHEA, I wrote to the doctor doing the study in NY (Dr Norbert Gleicher). At the moment they are offering free email consultations through a form on their site. I asked him about the affect of the estrogen on fibroids and he responded saying that although there could be some effect, it would be much less than with the IVF treatment itself, because those drugs raise estrogen levels much more. So, perhaps it's worth a shot. ...especially with all the other touted possible benefits (stamina, improving mood): if any of that is true, could be just the sort boost I need!

Emily

Will keep my fingers crossed that you get GOOD NEWS at the end of the week. Sending loads of +ve thoughts your way.

I hope that you are ok and getting on alright. Your information about the DHEA sounds intriguing - I hope that you get something out of it.

Big hugs

Little P

Little P,

Yes, if I take the DHEA, will certainly report back to everyone here to let you know my outcome and if my egg production jumps up.

Thanks so much for your continued support!
