Dear Cath

I am sorry to hear you are so worried and although I don't know much medically I am sure your doctors know what they are doing.

Can I ask why you think the pains caused the failures? Did the doctors say so? Could it be caused by nerves?

I do hope you can find some confort. I would try to relax and remember there are many things that effect embryos - it is such a lottery - and this time could easliy be your turn for a BFP!

Take care Lumi xxxxx

Hi Cath .. Sorry you've had so many disappointments so far. There have been many girls here who've had period pains throughout their 2ww and have gone on to get BFPs. AF pains don't mean anything !

Best of luck for your ET tomorrow - hope it goes nice and smoothly for you. Remember, you must get plenty of bed rest after ET - at least 3 days ! (hard, but true !!), then we want to hear how it's gone ..

Hi Cath x

I am having my 4th attempt tomorrow also x

I know it's hard to ignore your pains but I believe that the doctors are more likely to be over cautious with you because of the time, money and emotional stress than they are to tell you everything is fine when they don't think it is. They are there to meet your needs and act in your best interest, try and trust them.

I have pains in my tummy also, I am sure it is just sore from egg collection though. I would also be interested to know why you think the pains have caused you to fail.

I might be really thick here but another thought, you know when you ovulate you can get really sore pains, well ovulation is when fertilization takes place, could it be that your ivf cycle has fitted in tune with your own cycle, you know like your body thinking you are ovulating???? :?

L.P is also for ET tomorrow, going to be a few of us on the 2ww, go for it girl x

to answer all your questions, 1. these period pains start when i stop sniffing alone they start with the sniffing and progestorone tablets
2. my transfers never coincide with my "ovulation days" it's always been done around day 21.
3. i've spoken too many times to doc's and nurses about this pain and they all say the same "i shouldn't be getting it" and look at me as though i have 2 heads or something.
4. i feel it's never going to work as this pain i get is period pain and nothing else, although my scans and bloods are perfect i feel the treatment is always done too late as my body is telling me it needs to bleed before i'm anywhere near the end of treatment.
i'm sorry to be such a miserable cowbut i really feel annoyed, p***ed off and frusrated my body keeps letting me down and neither i or the docs know why, and to top it all three of my embryos died they didn't make it through the thawing stage so i was only left with one to implant so this now has to be my final go it's now out of my hands. sorry to moan. i hope you all get your babies, lots of love cath

Hi Cath

Im sorry to hear of all you are going through.
Just a suggestion, because Im no expert, but have you tried acupuncture or some other complementary\alternative therapy alongside your IVF?
Acupuncture is supposed to help make your uterus more receptive to an embryo and I think it can reduce any uterine 'contractions' at the time of ET, so helping them to implant. I dont know about use of acupuncture during the 2ww, I had my treatment in the weeks leading up to ET and before and after on the day itself, but I know it helped to relax me and keep me calm while I was having it. Sometimes these alternative\complementary therapies can just help thing along.
Good luck with your treatment, I really hope it works out for you
Take care

Hi Cath .. Sorry you're a bit down (understatement ?). I too only had 1 frosty make it through the thaw last time. You've heard it all before I'm sure, but you actually only need the one Cath. Believe in him/her until they prove you wrong. You need to think positive for lots of +ve energy to circulate around your uterus.

My ET this last time was either day 23 or 24. Much later than when I've done a fresh cycle. I understand it's not as rigid with frosties ..

If you want to, post your test date on the June Test Date thread, then we can add your name to the list.
