new to IVF and not sure what to expect

Post by Rach »

Hi, I am 32 years old and my husband and I have been ttc for the last year
1 1/2 without any luck. I was on clomid 8 months b/f I changed to a RE. I had a lap done last month and he found stage 3 endometriosis, ovarian endometrioma, adhesions, cyst and a fribroid tumor the size of a golf ball on my uterus. My dr. removed all he could but left the fibroid. On top of all that I don't ovulate for some reason, could be PCOS not sure. He has recomended we move on to IVF so thats were we are. He has given us a 75% chance of getting preg with IVF. All the info I have read is pretty overwhelming. We have our first vist this Thursday to get the ball moving. I believe I have already had all the test I need and I will begin BCP as soon as AF shows.
If anyone has any info for me that is easier to read than the stuff I 'm getting from the dr. than I would love to hear. I am wondering what the next few months will be like and how long the process will really take. Thanks for you help.

Hi Rach,
Welcome to this site- You'll get all the encouragement and support you need and more for this tough journey here- I did!
I can see you've been through a lot already..Though i cant help you on the endo, there are a few ladies on the general forum who have endo and or pcos and are going through treatment.
Why dont you join 'September buddies' thread on the Gen.Forum or Oct Buddies..You'll meet girlsin various stages of tmt.
Wishing you lots of luck for a successful ivf!

Cheers,
smita

HI, my name is Windy. I am 28 years old and married to a great man, 18 years my senior. We have been marrried for 7 years now and are very much in love. We tryed for 6 years to get PG and with no luck. We did everything in the book, i am happy to say that i did IVF and i have a 16 month old litte boy, who is just the joy of my life. For anybody reading this, i know how hard it is to want ta baby and to not get one when it seems like every woman around you is PG! Just keep your hopes high and think postive. AFter 6 years, i just knew i was never gonna get PG and IVF did work. However, it is very pricey!! My hubby and I would VERY much love another baby, but with the cost in San Antonio TExas( where we now live) it is out of our price range. I am in wonderful health and meet all of the state requirments to be a egg donor. IF anybody knows of a couple seeking a egg donor to help me with the cost of IVf, please let me know. I was on a list and got picked twice, but, the other couple who picked me had to bail out due to money problems. IVF, is a hard to go through, it can drain you in every way, but, if the outcome is a baby then it will be worth it. Keep the faith, and keep postive!!!! :-) Please let me know if any one needs a egg donor. Thanks so much!!

Wcalvert, if you post your message on the Insemination, you'll see that people needing/using donors often post there.
