Had an appointment on Tuesday to have bloods done and to go through the IVF procedure which we will hopefully be starting in October.
Just one question, I will be getting a prostap injection on day 21 for down reg and can't remember how long after that that I will be starting the horomone injections every day, can anyone help?? Also, has anyone else had prostap and if so what where your side effects. Have had prostap before for my endometriosis treatment but was prescribed HRT to take at the same time so think these counter acted any side effects.
Hi there Joanne ... Sorry, I'm not much use .. I've always started downregging on around day 21, but haven't used Prostap. My downregging injections were each day from day 21 - AF began around day 30 - then stims began 2 or 3 days later. From what you're saying though, this Prostap sounds like it's longer lasting ..?

I had Prostrap as the down regulation drug for my first IVF cycle, according to my clinic the side effects are headaches, mood swings and night sweats (menopausal symptoms). After I had the injection I didn't notice any side effects at all (although my husband says I was very moody). Interestingly, when I read up about Prostrap it said that it can take up to a week to start taking effect and then can last for 2 - 3 months - however in a normal IVF cycle the side effects are over ridden by the fact that about 2 weeks later (2 weeks in my case) you start taking the FSH daily injections and then its those side effects that you notice.
My first cycle failed and I tested negative on 3rd August and got my period about 4 days later - I am waiting for my next period before I can start again (it is now late but I assume that it is to do with the drugs in my system). Over the last couple of weeks I have had night sweats, hot flushes and headaches - I am beginning to wonder if it is as a result of the Prostrap injection still in my system? If anyone has any insight, it would be great to hear about it....
Hope this helps,
Sam

I had prostap inj my tmt was cancelled and now am waiting for af to return. everyone reacts differantly with this drug. My clinic finds it the best way to monitor and be in control of tmt. But every tmt cycle there are about 10% who have a neg reaction to it. Myself is one of the 6 on our cycle.Which means 56 were okay using it.
My reactions were severe headaches and some flushes but not many. Emotionally okay except when the headaches were so bad.
remember to stay positive It is a good drug it could be best for you...
