Is there hope again and again????PLEASE HELP!!!!

Post by minsm »

My husband and I have been going through IVF and this will be our 3rd transfer, 1st and 2nd were negative.

I am 25 years old and I was diagnosed with POF at the age of 18 (pre-mature ovarian failure) which is pretty much menopause:(. I wanted to start this poll because we are beginning to lose hope. That is why maybe you can help us see and bring us back with our heads held up high and be positive once again!!! Please!

Thank you very much!!!

Mindy

Please dont lose hope. Yes for some people it does work first time. I believe I was incredibly lucky. For most it takes more than one attempt. Please keep trying and dont lose hope. I have seen some people get pg on their 5th attempt or more. I hope it all works out for you
Good luck

Hi Mindy,
Hope everything goes well for you this time round- 3rd time lucky!!
I don't think there's any hard and fast rule- I had 4 failed IUI's and then got lucky first time, but I know of so many ladies who've had to try 3 times- It just depends on something beyond our control..
Keep the faith..
Wishing you lots of luck and blowing babydust your way!!

Hi girls thank you so much for your support and I hope the third time is the lucky one. I was wondering because I heard that summer time is the best time to go for a transfer is that true?

We are going in November and was just wondering?

Thanks again and I hope things go well your way as well

Take care Mindy

Hi Mindy
I learnt a big lesson in my first (failed) ICSI cycle. I became so caught up in what to do what not to do, and when to do it, that i gave myself even more to worry about than i would have in the first place. My point is, try and forget the summer success rate. All that is irrelevant if you are not relaxed and positive. This is enough to focus on!! I read so many books, stuck to a rigid diet, and got to the point where i was listening to the books more than i was listening to my body. I had my review consulation last week and was told that all her 1st time successes were the girls who did not overload themselves with info, they didn't do yoga or acupuncture, they just got on with life. She told me to burn the books and let my body do the work. This is so hard and it's all very well for me to say this now (wait til i get to november for my round 2!) but i think it is possible to over-educate yourself instead of just being kind to yourself and carrying on as normal. Success rates and faliures take place all the year round, just like natural pregancies. I think Zita West is great, but it is advice she is offering, not hard and fast rules. Here's to a successful november for us both!
Thinking of you
em
ps yes, i would say 3 cycles is optimum - which is why the NHS are pushing for three 3 cycles per couple, not just the one offered by many clinics, including mine..

Hi Em! Thank you so much for the beautiful reply! I agree with you about the books, I went to the mall with my mom one day and we decided to get the Zita West book so we did and all it says in there like you say are just little pointers and things that we would usually do.

Through this whole experience I have been living my life normally and I don't think I was stressed unless my body was and I didn't feel it but that is why I hope this 3rd time works. We did have 24 embrios when we started and we are going through our 3rd with 19 embrios which is very good, I am just affraid that when the embrios start to diminish that we won't know what to do. We have thought of adoption as well for last resort but that as well costs a pretty penny. We have spent 13 000$ so far in IVF and they say that if you want to adopt it will cost about 20 000$.

I really don't get the system, we want children in which we can't have natrually but the gov doesn't want to help us, well not here in Canada. I know they help in other states but not here. Oh well I guess we need to stick to our guns. So you are going through your second round in November as well? Oh girl I hope we both get pregnant I wish us all the luck in the world and ALOT of baby dust :)

Take care and hope to talk to you again ;)

Love Mindy
