Good Afternoon all,
I'm new to this message board and I'm 25 in my first cycle of IVF treatment. I'm currently taking 5 units of lupron 15 units of low dose hcg and 150 units of gonal f in the morning and at night. I noticed after taking my evening injectables I have spotting almost immediately after taking the low dose hcg....maybe within 15 minutes of taking it. I asked my nurse about it today and she said to see if it happens tonight and if so to let the doctor know tomorrow. I'm a little nervous because she didn't seem to think it was common. She did say my blood work and ultrasound this morning was good but I don't think the bleeding after the injectable is a good sign. If anyone can shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate it.
I actually stopped bleeding the very next day....the doctor said it was normal she said it was my menustral cylce stopping....everything is looking good so far i go for my transfer on sunday ....i'm very excited and nervous at the same time. Tonight i have to take the full strength hcg which i'm terrified of. How can I deal with these intramuscular shots?
Glad the bleeding's sorted ... now you can move on and worry about something else !!
I, too, hate needles. I think you've just got to concentrate on the goal - grit your teeth and bare it.
Best of luck with your EC / ER !!! Make sure you take it easy between EC and ET. You need to make sure your body recovers as much as possible.
When you can, go over to the General Forum and post your update on the Nov Cycle buddies thread, then your test date on the Nov Test Date thread. We can then make sure you are added to the Test List.
There's a Nov 2ww thread on the General Forum too. This is where all the girls hang out, who are waiting to test.
Good luck !!!

Just wanted to ask, are you or partner doing the intra muscular shots?
Well anyway, whoever is doing them, wanted to pass on this advice and hope it works for you. I've had a few - some hurt like I'd been kicked by a mule!! It's not necessary though. I was having them in the buttock. One doc got me to lie on my side with knees slightly bent and up a bit. This makes sure the muscle is relaxed, and then IT DOESN'T HURT!! So try to relax. The injection site may be a tiny bit tender for a short while after, but when it works and you get a +ve, you'll forget about all that.
