Have anyone had any bleeding after taking injectables?

Post by Jerzee25 »

Good Afternoon all,
I'm new to this message board and I'm 25 in my first cycle of IVF treatment. I'm currently taking 5 units of lupron 15 units of low dose hcg and 150 units of gonal f in the morning and at night. I noticed after taking my evening injectables I have vaginal spotting almost immediately after taking the low dose hcg....maybe within 15 minutes of taking it. I asked my nurse about it today and she said to see if it happens tonight and if so to let the doctor know tomorrow. I'm a little nervous because she didn't seem to think it was common. She did say my blood work and ultrasound this morning was good but I don't think the bleeding after the injectable is a good sign. If anyone can shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Jerzee,

Sorry to hear about your bleeding.
I had slight spotting ( for 1 day) during the start of stimmimng. Which IN MY CASE led to tmt cancelled. I was using menagon (stimming) and it was the highrest dose. In my case I just didn't repond and my scans showed no follies.

IT sounds like your scans are positive and it is just a wait and see case. Easy to say and hard to do, I know, I know.

Sending you big hugs of reassurance. PLEASE, Let us know how you get on today

Love

I’ve been through 3 cycles and on my last I panicked hugely when I started spotting after starting the Gonal F. In fact it was more like a light period. The nurse said it was nothing to worry about and was just showing that the lining was being totally cleared out in preparation to renew itself. That still didn’t reassure me much given it hadn’t happened before, but I went on to produce the highest amount of eggs ever and it was my best cycle in terms of egg quality and quantity. If your scans are fine then I would try and relax a bit.

Feeling Better

Post by Jerzee25 »

Thank you all for the replies.....I had bloodwork and a ultrasound done today and everything is okay so far....i no longer have the bleeding....but i did mention it to the doctor and she wasn't concerned she said it was totally normal. So I was relived to hear that. They are reducing the gonal f tonight bc they said i'm responding fast to it. My next appointment is Thursday hopefully I can have a better idea as to when the retrevial will be. I never thought I would ever have to go through any thing like this....but I have to say I'm dealing with it better than I thought. This message board is a great thing to have. Just reading everyones experiences help a lot. God Bless.
