Are cleaved eggs ok? Anyone know about the cell division?

Post by hearing chic »

I just had a frozen emb, transfer 2 days ago. I was told i had one stage 9 egg, one stage 8 egg and one stage 4 egg that they were putting back in. The 9 and the 8, the dr said are really good and the stage 4 was OK. What do i make of this? Besides these eggs are cleaved eggs. I used up my 2 beautiful blasts on the first transfer and i miscarried after 6 weeks. Then i froze 6 eggs. All eggs had to be thawed to get the best 3. None of these eggs were blasts, they were all cleaved. I hate the sound of cleaved but the dr. said there are good success rates with the cleaved eggs. Does anyone have any more insight? Does anyone know the stages? :? :?:

The term cleaved means divided. So the embie has divided but it has not reached the stage of a blastocyst yet. The Cleaved Embies are just at an earlier stage than the Blastocyst. They become Blastcysts once they have a certain number of cells, I think.

In the menus on the left there is a bit about Blastocyst Transfer (3rd from the bottom under the main title IVF & ICSI).

Hope this is some help

Good luck with your treatment. Hope it works out for you
best wishes
