How soon after Ivf consult doyou actually start meds and stimming. I have my first IVF consult on 17 Nov. Could I be doing my 2ww around Christmas or am I wishing.
I thoughtbyou couldn't start any meds until day 3 of your menstrual. Can someone explain the process and the timeline from start to finish - meaning consult to ET

it is hard to say, cos all doctors/clinics are different, and also it will depend on your cycle - whether it is long.short regular etc.
Normally you start downregulation medications at the start of your next period. I can't even remember when you go to the stimulating medications (injections).
Your clinic may want you to wait until January - my clinic won't start any treatments after mid December - but your might be different.Good luck

Doreen , hi. Your question is difficult to answer as everyone is different. I can give you a general idea from my experience though.
After meeting with consultant you would wait until day 21 of your next period. Then you start taking down regulation meds. (usually sniffing or injection) These drugs have to be ordered.
Around 10 days after that you would have a scan to see if you had down regulated and then start stimulating drugs. These are taken for a couple of weeks and then you have 3 or 4 scans to look at your follies to see if they are ready for collection. Then you administer a follie boosting drug around 36 hours before EC
EC is followed a few days later by ET. Then the dreaded 2WW!
