Hi
I have been following the boards for a few weeks now..first of all congrats to all the lucky ones!!.
We started ttc 3 years ago but then I became ill, had to wait 22 months until I was better, we fell pg, at 10 weeks we had a m/c, we were devestated but decided to try again only this time it didnt happen. My dh had a SA done which showed he had sperm antibodies, so we went to the doctors who told us there is no such thing as IVF on the NHS so we started saving very hard...in the meantime we had another 3 SA's done and gradually they have got worse and worse.
We went to a fertility clinic and was told we only have a 2% chance of getting pg naturally and they said they dont know what causes sperm antibodies...so here we are now!!. We start our first ICSI in Jan 03, so hopefully et will be begining of Feb. We are hoping to try blastocycst as they have much better success rates, we are both 28 and feel like the last 3 years have been a nightmare!.

We are hoping 2003 will be our special year.

Look foward to getting to know you all very soon.

Love Natxx

Hi Natalie

Welcome to the site ! I only found it myself the other week
& what a godsend. Sounds like you both have been thru alot already
& well done for being positive. My dh has antibodies too- could have been caused thru having a bad case of mumps when he was a child.
Our chance of getting pg naturally was under 5% so we took ICSI route.
Our first attempt didn't work but we are looking forward to starting again hopefully in Feb once we have had our follow up meeting with consultant.

Would be interested to hear about blastocycst (sounds like something from outer space !!) especially if rate better.

It is alot of money but when I read here- especially recently - of all the success rates bearing in mind some if the girls have had lots of attempts- I feel full of hope & would happily remortgage the house (haven't told dh that yet !!)

Good luck with the treatment & let me know how you get on.

Fingers crossed for you for a great year.Merry Xmas !

Love Dawn x :o)

Hi,
we're also starting ICSI in January. DH has low sperm count due to accident as a child and i have PCOS ! ! - what a combination.
we're both 30 (just) and feeling like time is ticking too fast !
Just been to Dr today to get some neurothesterone to start me off - hopefully start sniffing around 5th Jan.
We're also not entitled to funding yet so we've remortgaged for this 1st attempt - fingers crossed !
keep me posted to how you're getting on.
take care. Hiya Natalie,
Welcome to the board, hun. Glad you found your way here, cos we are all one big happy family (honest). As beck said, if you have any questions, please do ask, i can remember being a newbie on here too,and there is always someone on here to answer you. You take care of you hun, and best of luck in your treatment.
Heather xxx
Got pregnant with IUI triplets in March 04. One triplet stopped growing at 9 weeks. Gave birth to twin boys in Sep 04, Ciaran sadly lost his fight. Brennan's thriving.Looking to give Brennan a sibling soon.

Thanks ladies for the welcome, its great to know that I am not alone!!.

The things that I have learnt during this is not to take things for granted and most most importantly....you have to make the best out the situation because there is nothing I can do to change it!.

We should be starting around 16th Jan, one minute im so excited and the next a wave of fear...but tis great to see so many +'s over the past few weeks.

I probably wont be around much until the New Year but I will try to pop in when I can.

Thanks again.

Love Natxx
