Is it Day 14 or Day 16?

Post by julie »

Could any of you ladies that have been through this before give me some advice? My clinic have told me to test 16 days after ET but reading the site most people seem to be testing at day 14 or even earlier. What is the earliest I can test and get a reliable result?
Also when is AF likely to arrive? Does it normally arrive around your due date or are things all screwed up because of the drugs. It's just I don't want to read positives into things that mean absolutely nothing!
Oh one final thing - does everyone get implantation bleeding or are there people that have gone on to get pregnant without any bleeding? Believe it or not after reading everyone else's posts I'm panicking because I am Day 9 and haven't had any bleeding.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Julie

Is it Day 14 or Day 16?

Hello Julie!

You may have read my good news today, I was due to test on Monday day 15 (day 1 being the ET, which was the 12th August) however as I was feeling impatient today I have tested this morning on day 13, the clinic don't like you to do this as you can get a false negative result if it is done too early. However they say a positive is a positive therefore it is upto you if you want to take the chance of getting a false negative.

This is my 6th attempt and I always have my AF on day 11 or 12, hense why I did the test, however as you may have read both Barbs and Mandy didn't get AF at all and yet they had a negative test on day 14. I think the thing to remember is everyone is different, I only knew what to expect because I have had so many attemps.

Really it is upto you if you want to test early, but if it is negative don't presume the worst.

By the way I used a "Clear Blue" test if that helps.

I hope this has helped.

Best of luck

Sandraxx

Hi Julie, I tested using First Response10 days after transfer and was delighted with a +ive result - although because I was early I did a few more just to make sure and they were all positive.

This is my 3rd attempt at Ivf - I have a little boy from my first attempt( my pride and joy), failed my second and so far so go this time.

Also, I have never had any kind of bleeding at all or did I feel any kind of implantation pains - my main sympton this time has been really tender boobs!!

Good Luck

Kate
