This is my second cycle of IVF. I had 2 grade 2 embies put back in me on 6th Nov, I had my pregnancy test yesterday, it came positive but doctor told me it was very low, the HCG was 19, they like it to be over 48. I experienced this on my last cycle of IVF, I got a positive, but with a HCG of 7, it did double every 48 hours, but I sadly miscarried at 5 weeks.
The doctor said this would most probably happen again (very sensitive aren't they?) anyway I have to go back on Monday for another blood test to see if my levels have risen and most importantly if they have doubled, I really hope my have quadropled...
The wait and susspence is killing me. Has anyone experienced anything like this and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy/baby...?

Start downregging for 2nd cycle on May 2nd. natural conception discovered May 12th. OMG!
Thank you very much for replying, I see I've had a lot of views on this subject but no more replys, I suppose I just wanted to hear a similar story where everything turned out to be fine...!
Once again thanks. I have another blood test tomorrow to see if my HCG levels have risen, I will keep you posted.
I have replied to you on General forum that's why I viewed on here and didn't reply. I'm sure a lot of others have done a similar thing. We're all rooting for you and hoping for the best tomorrow. Try not to get too hung up on levels and what others have been through because it's all so individual - just cos is hasn't happened for someone else doesn't mean its not goiing to happen for you. Best of luck for tomorrow - I will be praying for you,
Cherylxx
Third ICSI July 2005 BFP and praying it continues!! 6, 8, 12, 13(Nuchal) 20, 25 and 28 week scans successful! Emily Ann Cane born 8.4.06 - more beautiful than we could have imagined
Not long to go now - try and do some things to distract yourself, maybe a good film or long sleep - Zita West suggests a little lavender oil to help relaxation (but check this is okay for pregnancy - I think it is, but just to be on safe side). I do feel for you, it's terrible waiting but just think you've come so far already and you've gone that extra step which has got to be positive. Whatever the future holds you are a day nearer to meeting your baby every day that passes and if this isn't 'the' time then you are still a day nearer to when it will be. I know it doesn't help much right now but try and keep positive and know that we're all behind you, willing it to happen.
Best of luck, Cherylxx

That's great news - so does that mean all fine now or do you need more levels checking at other times? My clinic didn't work with levels so I've no idea what the numbers themselves mean. Congratulations - why not starting posting on 1st trimester buddies? Its a lovely support for those first 12 weeks.

I had to have my levels tested again today to make sure they have doubled, they are expecting them to be over 150 today, should find out this afternoon, if they are over 150 then I don't have to have them checked again and just have my scan in 2 weeks.
I have looked on the 1st Trimester thread and also the waiting for 1st scan, but something has been telling me to wait, if I get good news today then I will deffinately be posting on there.
Thank you ladies for your support, I will keep you posted.

Just caught up with your posts. Im so pleased that your HCG levels are now doing ok. Mine were low at first and also didnt double, but then obviously took off!! Although the nurse was very cautious at first, my instincts were telling me it was all ok. Doesnt stop the worrying throughout the whole of pregnancy though!
All the best with your scan.
