Egg retrieval

I have a question on the egg retrieval process. How does the medicine control your ovulation? I'm currently taking 6 ampules of Menogon a day and go for US Friday to determine when we will do the retrieval. But according to my charts I should have ovulated yesterday or today.
So my question is how will they be able to retrieve eggs if I have already "popped" (Dr.'s expression) ovulated?

Hi! In my case, I was given 10,000 IU HCG shot. It should make the follicles more mature afterwhich you ovulate 36 hours later. It's a rare case to ovulate before the 36th hour. In my case, EC was done on the 34th hour after injection. I took the injection 8pm Dec 7th; retrieval was 6pm Dec 9th.
