It is 1 year since we started ttc and it has been stressful time for us. Of course that I expected that I'll get pregnant in no time. After 6 months of charting, OPKs and obsessing I made DH take home fertility test and it came back inconclusive, so I made him take SA. The numbers were not good. Count:13mil/ml, motility 23%, morph 6% Kruger. I was devastated and DH was in denial. I approached baby making as a job and I was failing miserably. By the time of DH's first dr. appointment I was getting better. I told my parents that we have issues conceiving because they were putting a lot of pressure with asking when are we going to have kids. By the second dr. appointment DH finally realized we have a big problem. By then I already researched the facts and came to peace that we will need IVF so I was able to give him support. The only thing that I found on the web that he can do was taking vitamins. That was a turning point for my mental well being. I realized that it is beyond my control and that we will handle things as they come. I stopped charting, OPK's. DH's second SA was a bit better; Count:19mil/ml, motility 29%, morph 6% Kruger. Doctor has no idea what is wrong with DH, he did all kinds of tests. DH did the 3rd SA just two weeks ago and results were better again: Count:36mil/ml, motility 36%, morph 2% Kruger . Dr. was surprised and wants to confirm results in two weeks. This may open the doors for IUI, I don’t know. That is my story so far. I think this message board gives a lot of support and I think I’ll need it in coming year. Also I would like to share my experiences with others and maybe that way make their own journey on infertility road easier.

I hope your Dh result will get better and better, i have heard here that a healthy life style does improve the sperm considerably!
I hope IUI will be an option for you, much less invasive than IVF, but if IUI does not work, you know that you have IVF as a "backup"!
So wishing you a healthy baby for this new year!
Take care

We have male factor too - m dh is azoospermic (sperm count zero) and we are awaiting a biopsy to see if he has any sperm at all in his testicles. I have been absolutely devastated with the news but this site and the support has been terrific. I'm sure you'll get great comfort here.
Good luck!

I am new to this site as well and so far the girls have been so supportive. It is amazing.
I have polycystic ovaries and DH has a very low sperm count. There was a confusion initially and out GP read the the stats wrong and told us that only I had a problem. We proceeded with Clomid which did not seem to work. We then found out that my DH had a low sperm count and he was asked to do 2 further tests.
My DH was advised to freeze his sperm in case his sperm count worsened. At the moment it is frozen however we used his live sperm at the last IVF attempt.
It is good that your DH is double checking the stats. To be safe it is also good to freeze the sperm if there are any doubts. It costs about £100 a year.
Godd luck for the future !
Love,
Sita
