hi all. how thoughtful and supportive it was to set this up. thank you so much! have just managed to log on for the first time in a week or so and have to tell you...............................................................................
i've had a baby boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
had a really difficult end to the pregnancy. as i said before a low heartbeat was picked up and needed monitoring to check it didnt occur too regularly. on the next routine check i was sent to see a consultant who suggested another scan at which point it was discovered that the placenta was beginning to fail. it was decided then to induce me the following day (11th) and i had time purely to go home, pack and go in early the following morning.
they broke my waters and after a few hours put me on a drip to speed up contractions. i decided to go for an epidural at that point, which they turned off in time for me to push him out at 21.22 that same evening.
he is utterly gorgeous. 7lb 3oz. i was exhausted and sore for the first couple of days, but now 6 days on i am feeling great and we are of course utterly besotted with our little bundle. we have called him Ned and simply cannot imagine life without him. we are trying out different ways to cope with the feeding and sleeping demands but he is a fabulous baby and is seemingly very content much of the time. sorry it's taken me so long to log on and let you all know...the support here is fantastic. i will keep an eye on how all of you are doing and hope we can share top tips on the other threads very soon!

CONGRATULATIONS - what fantastic, terrific news.
I'm sorry things were so strained for a while, but what a wonderful outcome - I'm sure he's a treasure and certainly makes up for any stress!!

Its approx 2 am in the morning here while Im writing this. Couldnt sleep so thought Id have a browse and wow! Couldnt believe it!

Congratulations Minnow and family - I feel a right pratt now because I've just asked on 3rd tri friends whether there' s any news from you?! And wow, what news you've already shared - fantastic. Congratulations Minnow. It was such a spread of sunshine to read your post today. I am glad the hospital took care of all your specific needs and glad to hear your baby boy has arrived safely. Looking forward to seeing photos!
