unexplained bleeding?

Post by carbev »

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to ask if anyone else has had some unexplained bleeding around week 12 and how it went?

I had some (old blood) bleeding last night and went in to see my doc this morning - beany still looks fine and there were no blood clots behind the placenta - which my doc says is good. He's put me back on progesterone and is seeing me again on Wednesday.

He did say the placenta was a bit low on one side, but apart from that, didn't offer a reason for the bleeding.

Anyone else had similar?

thanks, Caroline

Hi Caroline,
I had a good bit of unexplained bleeding during my first tri. I started on my 9th week and it continued for at least 2 weeks. Sounds like you have old blood whereas mine was bright red and new. They never really figured out the cause. It eventually stopped and the rest of my pregnancy was normal. I had my beautiful little girl on August 27th.

Good luck to you and your little one! Many women bleed and go on to have a perfectly normal pregnancy.

Hugs,
Kelly

Hi Shell,

Thanks for your positive message - guess I've just got to wait and see!

BigJ - I'm taking 6x 100 mg per day, which is half the dose I had been taking throughout the 1st trimester. The doc has said on several occasions that the foetus should now be producing enough hormones but as no blood tests have been done, I don't know how he has come to the conclusion to put me back on progesterone. Still, it sounds like a lot of ladies have bleeding but are still ok. Can understand your worries, but luckily you are having frequent scans - so you'll be able to see that everything is fine. Have you told your doc how worried you are? Maybe they'll let you decrease the meds more slowly and over a longer period of time.

Hugs back to you and little one,
Caroline xxx

Hi Caroline

thx for that - blimey that's a lot!!!

I take 300mg ultrogestan pessaries + 2ml shot progesterone a day..

I am going to talk to Dr this afternoon duringn12 week scan and insist on blood tests while reducing slowly oevr 2 weeks the shots, and I will keep the pessaries the same. I have loads of ultrogestan pessaries left over from last try so I could just keep on the pessaries regardless. I found this curve on a website that shows how progesternoen should increase the whole time, so telling me they can't monitor it because of the supplementary hormones is rubbish check out http://repro-med.net/papers/progest.php
I am going to wave it under her nose, and even offer top pay for the tests.

Will let you know later how it went
God I am fed up with fighting for evrything

big hugs and love to you

Caroline,
I spotted until 13 weeks- it was unexplained and turned red twice, both times I got admitted cause I was scared.
All was ok though..

BigJ,
I hope you get yoru answers soon- must be frustrating having to fight for everything and having to deal with a painful neck too..
Get well soon!

thx Smita  neck is getting a bit better but hurts as soon as I move around like walking and stuff. Can sit now for short periods...

Caroline thought you'd like to know my doctor has agreed to monitor pregesterone and oestrogen each week starting today with baseline value, I'll start reducing when I know I am in normal range, then in spite of slow reductions the progesterone levels should go up anyway. My clinic in Kiev have chickened out on the grounds that most women stop with no problems and they cant advise as they cant monitor me from there - fair enough, but a bit crap as my gynae has no experience of donor eggs, although FET is the same issue isn't it????

Anyway I have to pay for the tests €30 a time, which would buy me and hour with a consultant in Kiev  but I don't care it makes me feel safer.

hope you are OK dear

hugs
