New to this

Post by KellyL »

Hi all,

I'm new on this site so be patient if I start to waffle on :!:

I've been married for just over 4 years - DH has 3 kids from first marriage (& also had a vasectomy :!: ) He had this reversed in Jan 02 - until Nov 05 spent months waiting for appointments at local hospital for each glimmer of hope to be dropped deeper into a black hole. In Sept 05 consultant eventually told us IVF was our only chance - so after searching we contacted a clinic and went for an open day in October - the following day my sister gave birth to my lovely niece :!:
We went for consultation in Nov - although reversal worked DH's sperm has low mobility and no sense of direction - we started cycling in December - were told would need IVF with ICSI

I had 15 eggs removed on Jan 3rd, 10 were suitable for ICSI, 7 fertilised. I had 2 replaced on 5th Jan and 5 frozen.

Had BFN on 18th Jan - oh what an emotional week

We have a follow up consultation on Thursday when we find out what's next - & if it's best to carry on straight away or wait a while.

At least the monitoring did discover that my right ovary is hidden making it difficult to access.

I'm glad I've found this web site and hope to be able to chat to some of you - we've kept all this quite from most of our family & friends - my Brother-in-law and his wife are the only ones who know what's going on. It wasn't exactly the right time to talk to my sister about it :!:

Wishing you all love and luck

Take care

Kelly,

Sorry I read you msg incorrectly. I thought it said BFP. Sorry darling. I think I am trying so hard to stay that positive, I'm reading things wrong. Best of luck on your next go if you are having one. I'm in the exact same situation as you. My DH had vasectomy on previous marriage and then reversal that hasn't quite produced.

Sorry again pet.

Hey gals

Just wanted to let you know my husband and I are in the same boat!

He has antisperm antibodies post VR. Plus he lost a testicle during/post VR surgery making it even harder on him.
So now we have half the amount of sperm and the antibody on top of that.

It hasn't been a fun three years that's for sure!

Just trying to decide what to do next...

Hi,

It's nice to here from people in the same vote! Thanks for your replies.

With my DH daughter being nearly 16 I think I've convinced myself that I'll be a Step Grandma before I actually become a Mummy - but hopefully Thursday we will get some good news and be able to try again.

Best of luck to you all - I'll keep you posted on the outcome.

Kelly
