Sarting in March, anybody else?

Post by Nicholas'sMom »

Hello, my name is Heather and I will be starting IVF again on March 17th,
St Patty's Day, hoping it will give us luck. I did my first cycle of IVF in Dec of 2004 and had my son at 22 weeks, on May 15, 2005 he was 1lb 3oz, and passed away an hour later. I then did my second IVF Nov 2005 but was negative, so now we are on our way to starting our 3rd attemp in March. Back in Novemeber I really don't think I wasn't fully ready to try again, I was still going through alot, from losing my son, I do feel alot better now and hope we are at a better time. I still think of him everyday and I talk to him everyday, but I'm not so sad and crying all the time anymore. I still have my days but I have better days than bad days. Looking forward to give him a little sister or brother to look after. So I'm looking forward to starting IVF, and talking to anyone who wants to talk.

Hi Heather,

Bless you and DH, I am sorry to hear of your loss of your precious Nicholas. I don't know if I will be starting any tmt in March, (maybe, as we are going to Spain for DE consultation 16th Feb!) but thought I'd drop in to give you my support. We too know what it is like to lose a cherished baby, our DD was stillborn at 32 weeks in 2003. You will never "get over" losing Nicholas, but the fact that you are looking forward and trying again will help you to cope that little bit easier.

We have had two unsuccessful attempts with IVF but due to my age (over 40) they say that my eggs are of poor quality, hence the consultation in Spain for donor eggs. I have been on a waiting list in the UK for 15 months, with no end in sight, so thanks to the girls on this site have been looking at going abroad.

Good luck with your IVF next month, where are you going for tmt?

Thank you for all the support, I start my shots on March 17th so I will probaly go for ET in April sometime. I know losing Nicholas is the hardest thing I ever have to go through, I know I will never get over losing him and in a way I don't want to. I do feel better this time around and hope that helps the treatment. I live in New Jersey an I do treatment local to where I live, my doctor is so good, we love him. Good luck to you all. Talk to you guys soon.

I am so sorry for your loss. Reading everyone's trials and tribulations, I sit back and keep my faith.

We have been trying for over 4 years with NO sucess. Beginning with IUI and now IVF.

Going on 2nd IVF and also beginning stimulation injections (St. Patty;s Day), with the retrieval and Transfer in the beginning of April.

Hi Heather.
I cannot begin to know your loss - We have tried so long to conceive that it becomes easy to forget how precious life is, and why we all work so hard to create it.
My husband had a big brother that he never know - he died after only 3 days. DH knows of him, and knows of the love his parents had for him. I think in March you have lots of PMA for a successful cycle, so that you can share your love for Nicholas with his sibling - just more people to love him and his memory.

I am on down reg now, and have a blood test this Friday to hopefully start another cycle. So perhaps we will have some of our cycle together!

Good luck!

Bella.

Hi Heather,

Just had a look at Nicholas' memorial site. Very beautiful and brought tears to my eyes looking at the photographs of the three of you together. As you say, he will always be with you.

Heather,

I just visited your baby's site and I have to redo my mascara now!

I see the icon on the site for October 15th being "Remembering our Babies" Day. I really started crying when I read that because that's when I found out that I was pregnant with an ectopic on October 15th, 2002. I had to have emergency surgery. And even though some may not consider that a baby, I sure did. When they told me I was 7 weeks pregnant (because I didn't know) even though I knew it would soon be ending, it was the best feeling in the world...I was a mom for a few short hours. Every October 15th that comes around I think of that little baby and now to know it is a wordly recognized date makes it even more special to me.

I will be praying for your upcoming cycle....I too am attempting FET in March...should begin 1st week of March, whenever AF decides to show up!
I pray that God blesses both of us this year with the children that we so long for.

HUGS,

Allison

Heather I am so sorry for your loss, I can only imagine how hard it has all been for you.

Im am starting my 2nd FET in March, depends on when AF arrives but i will start injecting on Day 21 of my cycle which I think will probably be 2nd or 3rd week in March. Looks like there will be a few of us cycling together.

Thank you again for all of the support, and for visiting my son's website. That website helps me alot. I wish all the best for everybody starting in March with me, and hope St. Patty's Day give all us some Irish luck even if you are not Irish, it's ok, good luck is wherever you get it from. I also have problems getting my period, but I usally take Provera to get it or it won't come. I also started weight watchers in the beginning of Jan to lose some weight to help the treatment, I was told that if you have PCOS and are a little over weight and if you lose weight It can help, and you know we will do anything to make the treatment work. Before I did my first IVF I lost 30lbs and the treatment worked, I didn't gain it all back when I was pregnant, but I did put a few on during and after, that was a very stressful time, so my doctor said if I could loose 10-15lbs that would be great, but if not it's ok also, but I'm determine to loose those pounds to have a better outcome. (Hopefully). Well good luck to you all and hope to talk to you guys soon.

Hi girls

I thought that we really needed a list to keep track of where everyone is:

- Bella - Bloodtest 10 Feb
- Allison - waiting for AF
- Gail P - waiting for AF
- Kelly - Waiting for AF - FET April (hopefully)
- Cindy - starting in March
- MaryAnnandScott - starting inj 17 March
- Heather - starting inj 17 March

Hope you don't mind starting a list - I think it just helps so we can give encouragement to everyone when it's needed, we can hopefully carry it on right up through those BFP and until we all deliver healthy babies :!: :)

Bella, good luck with you bloodtest for Friday - hope everything is as it should be and they'll give you a start date.

Heather, I am also trying to loose more weight before we begin again - I started speed sliming in June 05 - didn't actually know that we would definately be needing IVF then, was loosing weight for me - when we got the info ready for an open day at the clinic we read that they required me to have a a certain BMI or lower, thankfully I had already got down to that level - I lost just over 2 stone up to christmas, must admit I did put a few lbs back on over Christmas, but have now lost those again - I would ideally like to loose just over another stone - but as long as I don't put too much back on the clinic is happy and I can continue treatment.

My DH has three children from his previous marriage, he also had a vasectomy. We got married in Sept 01 and he had a reversal in Jan 02, it took until Sept 05 for the NHS to admit that if I wanted children with DH we would need IVF & have to go private - this made me so angry as I feel it's been nearly 4 years wasted, we would probably saved more money - not got new cars etc. so we could have treatment.

Keep smiling girls and remember IVF has worked for so many couples and we will one day be members of that gang :!: :!:

Take care and feel free to update the list - you can cut and paste it into your text.

PMA to all
