DH had TESA/PESA today. They took several samples. At first glance only saw sperm in one - which were mature but immotile. Apparently they leave them in culture to see if they wake up - Doc wouldn't say how likely it was they would wake up - and they are unusable , I understand, if they dont. THe clinic will call tomorrow or teh next day to let us know

In the other samples they couldnt see any but are taking them away for further testing - they said theres a chance they might find something.

The Doc kept saying - "be optimistic at least theres sperm...." I felt like saying, "errrrrrrrrrr yes but its unusable, stop giving me flannel!".
MAybe I'm being too sceptical, but we are going privately, do you think they are just trying to keep us going, when they should be saying , "give up and go home and forget about having children together"
He also said that I should still do IVF, in a few months, and that on the day of EC they'll do PESA on DH again, but also have Donor Sperm at teh ready, if PESA fails again.
I Must say I'm quite surprised that they would even consider putting us thru IVF if they dont get any good ones this time. Surely IVF will be pointless if we cant get any of DH sperm this time or next....

Am I rambling?!

Has anyone else dh has immotile sperm? What have they done with it?

I think they are being too optimistic and I think DI looks like our only hope. DH not really coming round to it,...so really dont know what to do.

With IVF - I havea simple Q - can someone help me!?

Q/ how long is the process from start to the end of 2WW. I'd like to make sure I time my life a bit around it (not too much work travel etcetc). Does the "time" start from teh first day of your normal period starting. Say, if I was due to start a period on April 16th - would that be the first day of the IVF cycle, would it for instance be 6 weeks from then (give or take)? Sorry for stupid questions.

thanks guys!
