IVF and Bicornuate uterus

Post by colet »

Hi there
First time I've used a site like this 7 years into our endeavour to have a baby! We have had 3 cycles of IVF and I have a bicornuate uterus. Does anyone have experience of this?
Thanks

Hi Colet,

welcome to this brilliant site :). Everyone here genuinely understands all that you have to go through with IVF, I hope you will find this site as helpful as I do. I was told that I have a bicornuate uterus as well but my doctor told me that I have nothing to worry about. So I am not worried.

Good luck.

Cheers, Tiger

IVF and Bicornuate uterus

Hi Tiger
thanks for the encouragement. I decided to have a look at published articles relating to this subject the other night and managed to scare myself to death! We plan to discuss this more with our gynaecologist next week. We had been told that only one embryo tranfer at a time was the best idea. Have you been told this? We had 2 embryos transfered last time as it was a frozen cycle and stats are lower for success. WE are now not sure what to do going from scratch again. I have asked in the past if an embryo in each side was possible but was told that this was not an option?
Best wishes

Hi Colet, my doc just told us that when the time comes they will discuss what is best for me, how many embies to put back etc. I try not to read into it too much myself - I know that medical journals will scared the hell out of me no doubt!!

JustineBaby, thank you for your message - very encouraging ;). Soon Colet and I will get a BFP too!!

Cheers, Tiger
