THanks for all you really helpful replies on immotility and PESA (surgical sperm removal from testis which DH had yesterday). Chinese medicine a great idea.

So...........after having found no motile sperm in first check yesterday, today the clinic rang and said they had found a very few MATURE and MOTILE sperms. So theres a chance of ICSI. But its so few - its a VERY slim chance. There will probably be fewer sperm than eggs when we come to doing IVF.
They want to do another PESA ec time to get a few more if poss.

ODDLY, THey have also said that they dont want to freeze these ones as there are too few. This seems very odd to me...I mean wheres the downside in freezing them for when we need them for IVF? If they die, then we are no worse off but some might survive and we could use them.
Has anyone else had this?

we have to ring again tomorrow to see if more have woken up.
Has anyone else had sperm that were immotile on collection and gradually become motile "in the petri dish" so to speak?

Not sure whether to be excited yet - its better than finding none but theres so few its miracle stuff if it works.
I can see we're not going to get a definate yes or no for ages!
