Hi, me and DH found out on day 7 ET, 10 day old embie, and HCG level on day 10 after ET was 79, is this normal, or could it be twins as we had two put back.
I was is hospital for a couple of days with ohss, and am still very swollen and look about 7 months pregnant ( not joking im huge), and still every day, all day im having period pains, aswell as pains from the ohss, is this normal?
Also been having morning sickness since day 9 post et, in the morning and evening, any advice
We are so pleased to have moved to pregnant after treatment, but it still does not seem real to us that we are pregnant, even though we have had doctors telling us we are, we just never thought we would get to this.
Good luck to all, and a happy and healthy pregnancy to everyone.
charlie and Richard

Really push the water, it helps with the swelling.

Congrats and welcome to this side!

I was told to have high protein drinks as that is meant to fight off Ohss. I dont know if it helps after you have it though.

I hope you start to feel better soon

Congratulations and welcome - I've followed your story a little on general forum,

Swelling is huge after OHSS but it does go down honest - I kind of missed mine because I looked pregnant for the first 12 weeks then I didn't for the next 12 then I did again! Don't know about levels - mine were never checked but I'm sure that high levels don't necessarily mean twins - just wait for scan and see what happens - you'll drive yourself mad trying to predict everything and then might end up different to what you were expecting. Enjoy this wonderful feeling and try not to worry too much, get lots of rest and 2litres of water a day is fine but get advice from clinic before you over-drink because I seem to remember being advised not to have more than 3litres water a day with OHSS because you're already full of fluid - can't quite remember exactly what my clinic said though.

Anyway, best wishes for the next magical 9 months,

love Cherylxxx

Hi Charlie and DH

I also had a four day stay in hospital with OHSS and although its not pleasant, unfortunately, its a good sign and part of the IVF process for alot of women.
I am still very bloated too but as everyone has said, keep up with the fluids.
I have been very lucky as I have been looked after by the early pregnancy unit at my hospital as I nearly died 2 yrs ago from an ectopic.
My hcg levels on day 14 after et were 183.01 and they did double too 441 on day 16 after et.
I had a scan last Friday and they could see two sacs next to each other, the same size, but only one heartbeat. I have been told that I may have twins and one may difficult to see due to my bloating and it being very early days, or maybe the embyro didn't develop. I just have to wait and see.
I know what you are going through, and I know its really hard but you just have to sit tight, relax as much as you can, and just wait till the time is right. Time will tell whether you have one or two. I am sure that you will feel the same as me in that I am just very happy that I have seen one heartbeat.
Good luck and I repeat.... stay calm and relax.
Thinking of you

Hi Charlie - I'm new to this section too, and also still suffering with OHSS after having 5 days in hospital with it. I am still huge, and uncomfortabel, and yes I do get period type pains as well. I also have a new sciatica type pain as well, which I could do without.
I would still stay away from water thought - and stick with the high protein drinks - milk, juice, etc.

It sounds like you have good levels, mine weren't quite as high as that - only 49 on day 16, but they are increasing and this is the main thing.

I started to worry now about the quality of my blood being good enough! I am still on heperin injections - are you? I'm not sure how long I will need to be on these - the soon everything converts to normal the better. It just takes SO long.

Good luck with your recovery - and try to enjoy your good news - I know it is hard, I have found myself focusing so much on the OHSS that I still don't think the BFP has sunk in yet!

all the best,
Angela
